Kences Hotel - Hotel in Tirupati - Chittoor, India

The only positive of this place is the taste of their food, the rest is pathetic. This hotel really needs some serious renovation. Only the reception area looks fancy. Rooms are filled with black fungus on walls, no ventilation at all, centralized AC and exhaust. If we take a hot water bath, the entire room will become a sauna with steam. Windows are fixed, can't open them. Bedsheets have stains on them. We had a terrible experience there. When we checked in they gave us a room with a lot of black fungus on the walls, and asked them to change. The next room's bathroom was filled with a smoking smell the whole night, we called reception, and they came and saw the room and said exhaust is switched off, we will turn it on in another 30 minutes. If you have centralized exhaust, why will you turn it off? We had to go to reception and talk to them and only then they will try to address the problems. Unreasonably high food prices. If we ordered a coffee to our room, they quoted 125 rupees and the coffee taste was awful. The water bottle that they were serving in their restaurant was Kinley and they were charging 60 for it, I asked why it was 3 times more than its actual price, but they had no answer and said it had been followed for many years. We went with an infant and we were scared to be in that room with fungus. Since it was raining heavily that day, we didn't change the hotel. We just wanted to get out of that place as soon as possible. I would strongly recommend people not to go to this hotel until its renovated.

The food choice in the buffet was good. The buffet breakfast was also good. The rooms were neat and clean though the AC was freezing with no room control. The room telephone did not work. The bathroom was basic but clean. There was good hot water availability.

Not recommended. First time, I visited Kences hotel, Tirupati with family to stay for 3 days but we thought of having breakfast first. Food was nice though, very disappointed with Restaurant Manager (the tall Bald man) don't know his name. He showed with his attitude the biasing with South Indian people and ignoring us, being a north Indian. Everything was going good until he came into picture, he was behaving good and we were satisfied with Food and services but as soon as he came to know we are north Indian, his talking attitude, behaviour, voice tone etc. changed like Chameleon And atlast, he asked to make the payment of food in his personal account and not given the bill also. It was very disappointed experience and not expected from a 3-Star Hotel Restaurant. Not Recommended for North Indians specially.

The rooms were too old. I was allotted first floor rooms recently four days ago..... The room smells rotten, the walls were all damaged with water seepage . Very dull look and poor ambience. infact my kids were saying it... as haunted house.... Don't know how this reputed hotel became like this. I am sharing some pics taken inside the rooms. The prices were of 4 Star , but the facilities were only 1star. Washrooms were all obsolete with rusted taps. Only after a discussion the rooms were changed. But nothing much better.

I enjoyed my stay with Kences. Breakfast and dinner buffet was good. Not a huge spread but to the point as much needed. Nothing more nothing less.

Worst experience. On 28Sep23, went there with my family for lunch & very poor service. All the dishes we ordered whether paneer or gobi tastes the same. This place is no longer what it used to be.

trust me It felt like the place is haunted couldn't sleep all night, woke up and discussed with my family only to realise that all of them faced the same! please find some other hotel!

Reservation is pathetic. At the time of reservation they quote a price and if you fail to insist that they should send us a confirmation of the price on e mail , then we are in for a big shock. They tell lies and say that the agreed tariff is such and such which is atleast 15% higher than the agreed price. We feel cheated. This is my experience
