A very beautiful walkway and park near to Ksrtc bus stand. Serene.
This is the most accessible, affordable and nice way to se the backwaters and also to get a glimpse of the local culture. The ferries are run by SWTC and the jetty is located just near to the bus stand. There also is DTPC office there along with tourists information centre and you can get needed info fro there. We did 2 tours.. First one at 4:30 in the evening to Kainakerry..the best tour, saw village life and sunset on return. Another in the morning, 11:30 to Kollam. This was good too. Enjoy your ride and interact with locals on this ferry ride :)
Public money wasted. Matsyakanyaka itself is of a questionable quality. Badly maintained lawns. Very narrow approach. Tourists will not think of a second visit.
