Kavvayi Boat Jetty - Featured Reviews (212)
Situated near Payyannur in Kannur district, Kavvayi island is North Kerala's largest and has some of the most picturesque backwaters. Kayaks and country boat cruises are the best way to explore the beauty of the place.
Regular boat services and kayaks on request, are available here. The jetty is neat and tidy. There are plenty of resting places and refreshment stalls.
This is a good experience for people who love water. The boats are good and prices are very reasonable. They will take you to Mangrove forest were you can walk in the forest and also do kayaking. You can stay here for more than an hour. Next they take you to a secluded beach where you can sit and chill for a while.
There is a government boat service that takes you up to Madakal Island. 20 rupees is the cost of the ticket. The coconut tree farm is located on the island, so we can walk through it once we reach it. At the other end of the island is a beautiful beach where we can relax for a while. The same boat can take us back to the jetty.
Clean and well maintained. Good place for a nice pleasant evening.
It's a good place to visit for one time. There are many private boat services to visit the beach in kavvayi island and mangroves. Private boats charge around 900rs to 1500rs per boat. Government boat service is there for transportation to the beach in the island and it costs 10rs per person. This government transportation will be there for only weekends and holidays from 2.30pm to 6.30pm and in every 15 mins. The beach experience was good and only few people were there.
Take the boat!!!
Heaven on earth.. must visit if you are in this area.. as well a food tourist destination..
Beautiful backwater mangrove and a calm beach.. spend hours and you would find peace..
There is a resort as well if you are looking for one..
A perfect beach destination
The place is quite beautiful and we get to experience a walk through the mangroves . There is a speed to reach the mangroves but it's a bit expensive and guess not worth of that expense. But the walk through mangroves is quite an interesting experience.
A great place for boating and exploring. Highly recommend visiting here
