Kaup Lighthouse offers a breathtaking experience where you can immerse yourself in the sheer beauty of the sea. The panoramic views of the vast expanse of the Arabian Sea are simply mesmerizing. The lighthouse provides a perfect vantage point to watch the waves crash against the shore, the sunsets painting the sky with hues of orange and pink, and the gentle sea breeze that fills the air. It's a serene and tranquil place that allows you to connect with the calming power of the ocean, making it a must-visit for nature enthusiasts and anyone seeking a peaceful escape.

One of the most developed light house area in the region. Tourist facilities are abundant A dedicated parking lot, a variety of food stalls, rest rooms, beach activities and more. The trip to the top is the high light of the visit. A good 360 degree view of the surrounding and watching the sunset is the icing on the cake. The place has lighting and when we visited there was security in place.

Nestled majestically on the rugged coastline, the British-built lighthouse of 1901 stands as a testament to both the engineering prowess of the past and the enduring allure of maritime history. Located on an exuberant and rocky kapu beach, this historic structure has become an iconic symbol of coastal navigation and a cherished relic of the bygone era. Constructed by the British over a century ago, this lighthouse serves as a remarkable time capsule. Its original purpose was to guide ships safely through treacherous waters, and its enduring presence still evokes the maritime heritage of the region. Visitors can't help but feel a sense of reverence for the generations of lighthouse keepers who tended to the beacon's flame, ensuring the safety of countless sailors. The lighthouse itself is a handsome blend of Victorian and Edwardian architecture. Its monochromatic striped tower rises gracefully against the backdrop of the Arabian Sea, a striking contrast to the rugged rocks. The tower's lantern room, with its intricate glass panels and brass accents, is a stunning focal point. While the lighthouse's primary function is utilitarian, its design also exudes an unexpected charm, making it a favourite subject for photographers and artists alike. Perched on the rocky beach, the lighthouse offers breathtaking panoramic views of the churning sea. The surrounding landscape is untamed and raw, providing a stark contrast to the serene and enduring presence of the lighthouse. Visitors can explore the rocky shoreline, searching for shells and sea glass, or simply sit back and enjoy the therapeutic sound of crashing waves. The dedication to preserving this historic gem is commendable. Local conservationists and historical societies have worked tirelessly to ensure the lighthouse remains in good condition, despite its age. The Karnataka tourism website cites the timings as 4pm - 6pm but that's been changed to 5pm - 6:30 pm. The entry fee is 15 rupees and a colloquial set of spiral stairways stand right in front of you once you're at the entrance. The lighthouse's scenic location, historical significance, and preservation efforts make it a unique and memorable destination for those who appreciate the charm of bygone eras and the rugged beauty of coastal landscapes.

Kaup Beach Lighthouse, was there in my bucket list after watching David, offers a captivating experience. Many visitors plan their visit specifically for sunset, as the view from the lighthouse during this time is truly mesmerizing. However, it's important to note that entry into the lighthouse is limited and restricted to specific hours in the evening. This ensures a controlled and safe experience for visitors. If you're a fan of both breathtaking sunsets and cinematic inspiration, the Kaup Beach Lighthouse is a must-visit destination that will leave you in awe of its beauty and charm

Lighthouse: Kapu lighthouse was built in 1901. Kapu lighthouse is 27 meters tall. Constructed on a rock, the lighthouse has stood the test of time and has guided ships to safety during the days when ships did not have satellite navigation and relied on lighthouses on the shores for warnings. Kapu light house is open to visitors from 5PM to 6PM daily. Visitors may go up the stairs and get a bird's eye view of Kapu beach. The lighthouse may be closed during heavy rains for safety reasons.

An amazing place to enjoy the view of light house surrounded by the majestic sea. You can stand and watch the mighty waves rising and falling and forget about the time. There is a backwater as well and the view from everywhere is incredible. Lots of food outlets and hotels are nearby. Keep the area clean. Do not litter Instagram: @justacrow
