If I had to describe this place in one words : tranquility Sitting in the heart of Dehradun, FRI is one of the most beautifully built stucture where one feel closest to the nature and its being. Best time to visit is in the winters. Timings are 9 to 5 and dont forget to click loads of amazing pictures!
NekiRam Raulania from Bikaner runs the most affordable tea corner and a quick snack point here, just across the road from the FRI Kaulagarh gate ..The crispy Samosas with their well seasoned filling , paired with a cup of steaming hot ginger -elaichi tea are savoured with elan , sitting on neatly arranged wodden benches of yore inside the shop; the winter sun streams in through the tree tops to add a sepia tint of nostalgia as you trickle down the last dregs of your tea and bite into the soft , freshly prepared balushahi sweet!! So grab your corner and tea to observe and enjoy Doon from this spot !! P.S. An added bonus is the genial staff at this shop , ever smiling and welcoming !
This is the Second Gate entering for the premises of FRI, University and ICFRE HQ. Timing of the Gate entry for all visitors and residents of FRI campus in from 7 am to 8 pm strictly. No entry and exit is provided beyond the time bound at any cost.
