Overall its a nice lake with lots of wlaking tracks around. The bad thing was that the lake is not being maintained properly. There are a lot of shrubs in the lake which makes it appear unclean and the fountain music show has been stopped may be temporarily but it does not augur well. Lot of street dogs in the walking park area which results in too much filth.
Best place to visit. Kids enjoyed a lot. Please go through the map (For directions). It will save ur time. Animals were somewhat lazy. Watching white tiger & Bengal tiger was such great treat.
Katraj lake is a beautiful lake located in the heart of Pune city. This lake surrounded garden is very popular for locals for to spend some leisure hours at the afternoon time. But somehow the lake is not maintained properly and the water is not fully clean.
Nice quiet place to spend an evening with family. This lake is half surrounded by a park and half walkeable bridge. It had less water and was dry at some shore, might look more beautiful in rainy season. Park has many fun games for kids like swings, see-saw, slides, etc. and open gym equipment for big kids, too.
My two child has attended wonder school , and we have been extremely happy with the experience. The teachers are kind, patient and truly dedicated to the wel- being and education of the children.

Katraj Lake is a man-made lake, near Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park. It is different from the Katraj Snake Park Lake (present in the zoo). And it offers a relaxing retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Katraj Lake was dug up to supply water to the town. But today, it is popular for its beautiful surroundings. It attracts many nature lovers. Here, you can watch birds, click photographs, or just watch the sun going down the horizon. And you can witness spectacular views of the Sahyadri mountain range from here. The lake also has a peaceful jogging track around it. The lake has an island in the middle, which you can approach by boat. This island has a statue of the Maratha ruler Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, along with a fluttering flag of India.
The lake has a good walking path circling it. Visit only during monsoon. Good but not soo good
