A well managed and clean Railway station. An important railway station who are visiting CMC Hospital Vellore. Lift and escalators is also at every platfom so that elderly men/women or patients can easily cross platforms.

Katpadi junction is one of the important railway station for various reasons like education, medicinal tourism and temples. Vellore CMC hospital & VIT university are most used by people across India. Auto/Cab available at the entrance. All banglore & Kerala bound trains cross here & stops here. Also junction point for Tirupati and tiruvannamalai. People can get down & take bus to reach. It has 5 platforms and passenger friendly amenities are available. Vendors are available for foods on all time. The sight out of the window is great to watch in the katpadi jolarpet section.

This is very old railway station structure, need to be improved as early as possible. So many passengers are traveling from this station, they don't maintaining the minimum amenities here. The station is very unhygienic. This is very important junction of north to south connecting railway line of india but they shouldn't maintaining even the coach position display boards at platforms. Vellore cmc hospital patients and arunachalam devotees, golden temple vellore devotees and vellore vit students and vellore fort visiting tourists all are alighting here. All of them are feeling so inconvenience here. Hope to railway department enhance the amenities in this station.
