Katpadi junction is one of the important railway station for various reasons like education, medicinal tourism and temples. Vellore CMC hospital & VIT university are most used by people across India. Auto/Cab available at the entrance. All banglore & Kerala bound trains cross here & stops here. Also junction point for Tirupati and tiruvannamalai. People can get down & take bus to reach. It has 5 platforms and passenger friendly amenities are available. Vendors are available for foods on all time. The sight out of the window is great to watch in the katpadi jolarpet section.
This station serves as a junction for pilgrimage destinations like Tirupati and Tiruvannamalai. It provides all the necessary facilities you would expect from a standard station. The ticket counter is situated outside platform 1.

Not so updated as we expected the station to be. No free toilets for public. Outside the station be careful about the real uncultured rowdies, the auto drivers .They are the day light dacoits from South India, it's anywhere in India, they are the same uncultured goons ( the auto drivers). Pay them highest RS. 10 per km, not more than that. Katpadi is not a good station at all. All you need to come here , is for medical purposes.
It was a rainy day when we traveled, that was amazing. The disappointment is the train delayed 1 hour. That's even boring. You have lift and staircase in this location. Plan your journey and visit early to the station to avoid hurry.
Reached here at midnight and visited the retiring rooms but in the reception desk no one is there, so I haven't got any room. After that I tried to rest in the upper class rest room but there was no AC not even a single fan. Last option I have to wait in the general rest room and it's too hot and the sitting area was very bad.
This is one of the busiest railway stations. A typical railway station provides drinking water, waiting areas, toilets, and platforms that are clean and well maintained. Wheelchair accessibility is provided, along with a lift and escalators. As far as food is concerned, there is only the option of prepackaged food parcels. There is a paid parking area for two-wheelers and cars. A variety of transportation options are available, including auto-rickshaws, cabs, and buses.
The railway station was neat and clean. It's one of the main stations after katpadi junction. Railways should make the station bigger and provide more trains towards south tamilnadu.
