Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary - National forest in Dharmpur, Katarneya Ghat Range - Bahraich, India

I've visited katerniyaghat Tiger Reserve and wildlife sanctuary many times, this place make you feel nature from closest, it is a best place for family picnic, tiger reserve safari, elephant safari and many more activities are offered here, but there is communication problem cause of no network area in forest, but this place is heaven for wildlife lovers and wildlife photography lovers , must visit place if you're coming to Bahraich

Nice place to visit. We around 4 of is group of photographers visited this place mainly for the boat ride & photograph nature. It was a good place to shoot. There was these beautiful tree houses & guest houses which were well maintained by forest department. Boat ride itself was great. We say lot of crocodiles & other species..

Nice wildlife sanctuary. Good drive of around 40 km inside forest . Although disappointed not able to locate wild cats but still good place having variety of flora and fauna.

Good place to spend weekends with friends. Accommodation booked through UP tourism website. Got a chance to stay inside the Jungle. We were lucky enough to get a chance to see Tiger and Leopard. Awesome place. Apart from scenic views and fresh air, accommodation and services were the areas where lot of improvement are required. Rest was good. Wanted to give 3 and half stars but that option is not available .

Very dence jungle and we spotted a lot of deers in Safari as well as road side too. Apart from deers, we saw crocodile, gharial, langoor, monkey and some beautiful birds in boat ride. If you are going to Katarniaghat then try to come on weekday because there was very rush on weekend. It will be good if you book safari and boat ride in advanced from online because sometimes it's unavailable offline due of rush. Overall awesome place for one night stay.

Green woods, pleasant breeze ruffling the leaves of the trees, chirping of birds, grounds covered by fallen leaves, anthills and magic of natural beauty... I lost in the beauty of this wildlife Sanctuary. Home of king of animals, it's a tiger reserve. Many other animals and birds are here in it's natural habitats. Gairwa river which flows in the sanctuary area is a sanctuary for Mugger and Gharials. We lived in kakraha rest house which is situated in the heart of the forest. Running mainly on Solar power the suites are air conditioned and comfortable. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available here. Rides in open SUVs for the wildlife, boating are added attractions. Camps and trees houses are really amazing. Online booking and payment system makes it easier. Rest houses are wheelchair accessible. Small tea shops, dhabas are for a cup of tea or snacks are lovely. Hospitality of staff and natives are wonderful, I was overwhelmed by the courtesy of the people there. A great place for weekends with family and friends. Must visit or you will miss too much.

A beautiful Wildlife Sanctuary. One of the best places for seeing the gharial in its natural habitat is the Girwa River. The river play an important part in the ecology of the sanctuary and are home to Crocodiles, water birds, Otters and a host of migratory birds during the winter months . If maintained well it can attract large crowd who love forest.

Very beautiful place, greenery everywhere, beautiful camps, boating and jungle safari where u get to see wild elephants, tigers, leopard, deer, dolphins, crocodile and endangered birds.
