Kasimedu Beach - Beach pavillion in Chennai - Chennai, India

For many, when they think of a beach in Chennai, Marina Beach comes to mind. However, there are several other beaches located to the south of Marina, such as Besant Nagar (Elliots Beach) and the ECR beaches, known to quite a few. Interestingly, there are also a few beaches to the north of Chennai, which even locals may not be very familiar with. One of these hidden gems is Kasimedu Beach, also known as N4 Beach on Google Maps. Kasimedu Beach is unique in that it serves as a fishing harbor rather than a traditional sandy beach. It features a road that leads directly to the sea, resembling a dashboard inviting you to take a plunge into the sea itself. You can even ride a two-wheeler right up to the water's edge, and four-wheelers can go a significant distance down the road. On the right side of the sea, which is the southern side, you'll find a bustling fishing harbor with numerous fishing boats. The left side of the road is bordered by substantial boulders, and after a few meters, a second road appears on the other side of the water, creating the illusion of a broken bridge. However, there was never a bridge, and this gap serves as the route for fishing boats to enter and exit. It's worth noting that Kasimedu Beach is a bit secluded, so it's advisable to visit in groups, particularly if you're going with your family, especially during the early morning hours.

Good to enjoy weekend and evening time. You can walk in the street which laid between sea and standby water. Fishing harbour also available.

Kingdom of Fishermen This place is very famous for fishes and Wave barriers . You can get almost all kind of fishes in the market situated here which will be mostly get sold fresh by 4 am to 10 am . For best Crabs and oysters hit this place by Sundays. And in kasimedu there is lots of wave barriers constructed to arrest waves at near by Chennai and ennore ports . Few of the wave barriers are paved by cement and allowing people to ride bike and can walk . Visit by evening to enjoy this palce .

Nice place for early mrng and evening shots if want to see fisher men going about their lives. Go during sunrise or sunsets. Avoid noons if u don't want to get roasted.

Nice experience. We went during evening, so the place was a bit crowded.So please wear masks.The place was opened only till 6pm.Saw many fishing boats,visited interior of the boats, took selfiesreally enjoyed.

Sea of seafood onshore! We went for palaverkadu crab and got it. You get all type of sea food here. Even you have separate area for prawn, crab, cleaning, etc

Scope for improvement for this huge and at that the same time if improved it will be marvelous. Definitely this beach can shaped such beautiful since rock roads for parallel ly made at some distance which looks great and also we can walk along that stretch and enjoy the beach at closure look. The beach boundaries can be improved so much so that visitors can really feel the beach like Pondicherry. I will definitely say this beach can be done same like Pondicherry why because it formation is same like that. Maintenance is very poor so much waste materials in the sand. Dustbins need to kept at beach. Definitely government should look for translation.Transporation connectivity is very good. Near to this beach fish wholesale market is located. Due to corona weekends and government holidays are not allowed inside. I taken photos as much I can. After 6pm is not allowed also in week days.So confirm before visiting beach as many people are returned back by police. Overall ok to visit but if facelift is done really it will be great beach no doubt in that.
