Kasar Rainbow Yoga Retreat - Resort hotel in Mat - Almora, India

Amazing place , with great facilities and beautiful mountain's view from all the rooms in the place. The Yoga studio is one of a kind and it makes the experience even more perfect. Also the staff is very nice, we had a very good time and deeply recommend !

It is a hidden gem of Kasar where we had absolutely the best time. The owner of the place, Mr. Mehra is a gem of a person. He is very approachable for any needs whatsoevr and you can have a great conversation with him. Coming to the stay, the place is much better than the pictures justify where every room has a view of the mighty Himalayas. The property, I was told is more than decade old but did not look like it. It is extremely well maintained and that too with minimal staff. We had initially booked a single room,Trishul for 3 people for 3 nights but seeing the beauty of this place and Kasar itself, we booked another room and extended our stay by another day. The cafe serves freshly prepared food and it justifies the amazing view. We tried a variety of cuisines and were pleasantly surprised every time we sat down to eat. Special mention for ginger honey tea. Overall easily the best bet for stay at Kasar, you can just can't go wrong with it. We would love to stay again and this time a little more longer.

Great mountain hotel and people! I truly enjoyed my stay there, which served as a safe harbour before and after the 6-day hike in the Himalayas. The food is very good and excellent (my favourite was paneer bhurji). The rooms are comfortable. The only thing you need to figure out is the time of using the shower to catch the warm water (I found it easy to solve anyway since the rooms are equipped with a kettle). The views are stunning, the air is fresh. I am looking forward to returning here again!

Very beautiful n serene place. Amazing view from the huge terrace. Snow peaks were mesmerizing.. Food too is delicious and always freshly served. The owner Mr. Mehra is very friendly and caring. Staff is also very cordial and helping . Only issue was of hot bath water and a few structural faults in bathroom But overall enchanting place

Superb place to stay. The entire team at Kasar Rainbow yoga retreat, are super friendly, and they go out of the way to accommodate one's need - be it food, accommodation, or any other thing. The location is very good with ample parking. Views from the property are super amazing, be it the dawn or dusk. Sitting on the balcony or in your own rooms, one can enjoy the views. The meditation room at the property or the yoga room is very tastefully done. Walking distant from hotel are Kasar Devi temple, Shardha Math, and the Tibetian Buddhist Monseatry. The local produce even makes the food more tasty. Keep up the good work! A special shout for Sabu and his team !

We went all way from Pune to this stay for meditation. We loved the nature and silence around. Property is spacious, well maintained. It's just 15 min walk towards kasar devi. The yoga hall above was big and we experienced an high energy over there. Owner was prompt to any service. Overall a very good visit.

After a two weeks plus sojourn in the Kumaon's we are back in Gurgaon ( darn)... This place owned by Sarbajit Mehra and his artist wife is stunning, much to write about but much more to experience. Fabulous location ( it's a climb down the mountain side but it's worth every step), breathtaking views, excellent hospitality. The restaurant is a feast to the eyes, the decor very high on aesthetics. The place warm, literally and figuratively. The food in the restaurant or ordered from the sister cafe up the road ( one can eat in the cafe too) is great. I think we have found our "go to" place in the hills... It sits in the lap of Kasar Devi, what more can we ask... We intend to visit again.

I had a lovely stay at Rainbow. The location is perfect, the surroundings so serene and the most spectacular sunrise views in all of Kasar. The vibe is peaceful, with echoes of birds and winds all day. The staff is great, very accommodating of your needs including home-style food. Location-wise, it's a short walk from Hippie hill and Kasar devi temple - both locations offer a serene spot to watch the sun go down. I highly, highly recommend this place.
