Thali was good until one day we found a mosquito in our food and stopped going there. Also they made the same aloo bhaja always with another variation of sabji which wasn't that good or seasonal. I would suggest the owners to get through cleaning of kitchen and restaurant. When I showed the mosquito to the owner she said, oh. That's all. Their thali is more expensive than most other places, we replaced the rice with roti, but after the mosquito couldn't go there. also the place takes time because they make food on order, even thalis. Try Gorkha hotel down the stairs.

Awesome food - right from Veg-Thali to Mutton Biriyani. Ambiance is also very nice and the staff are well behaved. A fabulous Bengali restaurant in Gangtok. But rooms were not good, bathroom is dirty and geyser was not working on my room. When I asked the staff about the same, then he replied with a sorry and told me to adjust. Food was good but staying there is not recommended at all.

Karsonam family Restaurant is quite good for family as well as friends or couples and college students. The restaurant is famous for Kolkata style Awadhi Biriyani ,Hyderabadi Biriyani and also for Mutton Kosha & prawn items. You can enjoy the environment of this restaurant as well as spend some quality time with your near and dear. After placing order here service time nearly 15-20 minutes time gap. Staffs and Manager are quite good. Regarding Hospitality and taste those r Purley BANGALI. Now it allows cash payment,card payment will be introduced very nearly. Additionally you can enjoy soft pleasant music. Finally best of luck to everyone of Karsonam and special thanks to management for this tasty initiative.

You have to visit this place for the food and the clean ambiance. The staff are very courteous. U have to keep a waiting time for at least 15 minutes. Don't order in bulk , wait to finish and then then order again. For 2 people expected expense will be around 600-700 rupees. The presentation is good. Good place to go with friends and family.

Good place for MOMO at MG Marg

I am out of my birth place, Kolkata, for last 8 yrs and one of the few things I always miss is the food of Kolkata taste....recently when I came home and visited Gangtok for few days, the first thing came into my mind was where to get food of our choice, as the previous experiences regarding food in Gangtok were miserable. But very fortunately, this time we found 'KARSONAM' restaurant where we felt as if we were in our home town , Kolkata......touch of 'bangaliyana' in everything.........the food taste, the ambiance, the staffs, the soft instrumental music.........everything!! This was the first time we enjoyed Gangtok full-heartedly.......Beauty of Kanchanjangha is definitely the primary attraction of Gangtok, but when it is paired with your favourite food (specially the biriyani......waooooo....), the enjoyment is just the double.......Lastly, we are thankful to the "karsonam' staffs for their 'antarik appyan'.

This restaurant is truly recommended for food lovers,since every food here is made, serverd & even presented very well.Mughlai dishes & also Bengali dishes everything is great here. Staffs are also friendly.Overall nice experience & should visit this restaurant..Thank you.

The ambience is quite normal.Nothing fancy but clean.Staffs are well, humble and bhadro ..... suggest good dishes as per your requirement. Loved the Biriyani and mutton preparations.
