Lighthouse was already there but it opened for public recently. Morning 10AM-1PM and evening 4PM-6PM is the opening time. Monday is holiday. Rs10/person and Rs5/children is entrance fee. For taking camera photos should pay separate Rs25.currently entrance is opened via children's park. Maintenance works are still going on.
Karaikal Lighthouse is located on the Karaikal beach, near Arasalaru estuary. It is a small lighthouse with only 72 steps (including lader) and a height of 18 meters. From here we can see Karaikal city and most parts of Karaikal district. The beach, the sea, the mangrove forests and the fishing harbor are beautiful sights nearby from the top. Easy to climb. An entry fee of ten rupees is charged. The campus is kept clean.
