Kapra lake used to be open for 24*7 but now it's only for limited period of time in daytime.... I went dr during chhat pooja and the place was all lit up with people and some shops.... Everything was provided for as per chhat pooja.... Even ganesh visarjan takes place here.... It's a good place for all rituals

KCR government is taking care of this lake and cleaning it. It will be nice if everyone takes care of it . The lake is really wonderful. The government have arranged seating and gates , so that no one can dump anything. Yet there r problems .. there r no gate keepers and hence everyone is dumping everything. Even the animals like cows and dogs are damaging.
It will be nice if government keeps anyone to look after it and arranged a gate keeper
It should also make awareness among public .
Public should also have a common sense about pollution.
It's a good place for peace and photo shoot...there can see fishes and snakes etc..
Kapra Lake also known as Oora Cheruvu(in Telugu), is located in the Kapra district, sainikpuri,Secunderabad. The natural beauty of the lake endows the locale with its scenic beauty and is treasured by the locals for it.The lake is currently being planned to be further developed by the GHMC. The lake is an ideal site for anyone who loves nature and prefers to spend their time away from the city. Autumn is the best season to visit Kapra Lake. But now the place is very polluted,the water smells very bad ..one cant even stand there for a minute. People do come in the morning and evening time to spend some time there but i was not able to stand there because of that bad smell. One can see in the photos how polluted it is. The lake was not at all polluted when me and father used to come to buy fish from the fish market infront of the lake.
Most un maintained lake,the place and the surroundings have to shaped.....very sorry the lake requires maintenance urgently corporation should take immediate measures to save our lakes.
Nice view and best for morning jogging ( be care full at afternoon, after 10pm, early morning, snakes are surrounding the lake don't go alone - I saw one python and one kobra)
