Historic place, known for the great voyager Vasco de Gama... This beach became famous only because of his end destination... A beautiful place to spend, since there is no much of a crowd seen over time here. A good spot for school excursion...

Had a short visit to this beach in the evening. Good experience with sunset. Neat and clean beach, with short wall built near the mainland. Ample parking facilities, lots of places to relax including a few rocky areas as well. Saw a series of resort like villas in vicinity of this beach. Heard that their rent is 10000 rupees per day. On the way to beach, saw fresh catches of fish and crabs on the roadside. Overall, a nice beach to relax oneself.Kappad Beach is beautifully laced by a road and very calm & quiet in nature. Waves here are so placid (or should I write timid !) that they can be termed as ripples and not waves. Evenings with balmy breeze from Sea are really quite enjoyable. Mornings, though are not that comfortable.The place synonymous with Vasco da Gama's landing in India from Portugal. Located a few kilometres away from the city of Kozhikode, this place attracts tourists from far away as well as nearby alike. Nice n long beach with adequate parking. The commemorative plaque is now reduced to just a stone and no care being taken to revive it by the authorities concerned. An enjoyable visit to this place anytime.

Awesome place. Beach is clean and has few shops to serve basic refreshments. We could collect shells. Near the beach is the stone where Vasco DeGama first landed.
