Kankarala Fort - Fortress in Kankrale - Nashik, India

(Ta. Malegaon, Dist. Nashik) Type - Giridurg. height - 755 m. from sea level. Nearest village - Krakla. - - Nashik- Malegaon- Karanjgavan- way Karanjagavan village is located on the road to Dhule via Malegaon Kusumbe. The fort can be reached from nearby Kankrala village. It can also be reached from Lulla- Garbadgaon by walking from Galne. On the way from Kankrala village, there is a route through Ghali. Where there are white bands of lime on the edge of the fort, there is water. The fort can be entered through a fallen door. There are also tanks on top. There is no shelter. You can see all around from the fort. Galna Gad can be seen from here. -

Kankrala fort - very near to my hometown, Malegaon, this fort have it's name from the base village and is known for the fact of having many water cistern on and around the fort. There is Hanuman temple, Shiva ping and Nandi on the fort. Even if there is nothing much to see on the fort, the way leading to fort gives spectacular views The fort is very easy to climb and it takes half hour to reach the top and another half hour to see the fort. I took a short trip starting at 4 in the evening from home and reaching back home within 3 hour.

Visit if u love offbeat treks.. Thing to see: watertank on forts.

Fort is very nice. There is a small climbing patch good trekkers can do it without rope. Ascend time is 30 mins for this fort.
