Kangra Fort - Fortress in Kangra - Kangra, India

The fort is in a dilapidated condition though the authorities are doing some restoration work. Do get to the top level of the fort to understand why this location was chosen for the fort. You will get a wide angle view of the surroundings including the river stream meandering through the valley next to the fort.

Remnants of kangra fort which got devastated in 1905 after severe earthquake which killed around 20000 people . But the mighty structure tells a story of Mighty stand tall and intact with head up....the place has historical background , provide picturesque panoramic view of valley . Well surrounded by temples to visit along with. Well maintained by Archeological survey of India.

During my visit to Kangra visted this fort and the experience was amazing and enjoyed a lot inside the fort. The Kangra Fort is located 20 kilometers from the town of Dharmshala on the outskirts of the town of Kangra, in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, India. The fort is well maintained and the view from the fort is also very beautiful as the fort is situated in the mountain region of india so it's different from the forts which are situated in the plain region. So overall it's a beautiful experience to be in this beautiful place. And it's a must place to visit if in Kangra or planning to be in Kangra.

Ruins of an ancient fortress. Well maintained and peaceful to stroll and enjoy. Lots of trees and birds. The rock sculptures inside the fort are also beautiful. A nice view of the surrounding area. Recommended for photography.

ASI needs to conserve the place in a stricter way. And most of the place looks tattered at the top of the fort. Those seats are in poor condition. Fort walls are full of unwanted greens. And it also had lots of plastic waste.
