KANCHANJUNGHA YOUTH HOSTEL - Youth Hostel in Siliguri - Jalpaiguri, India

Most Third Class Accommodation I have ever seen. I booked this property online for 03/06/2023 after telephonic Conversation with caretaker of this property. When I reached to check in that place at around 02:00 pm at the property, I was shocked to see that no one was there and the whole property was in locked condition. I tried to call the mobile number provided in the registration Slip but to my utter dismay, I heard the mobile phone was switched off. All helpline of Youth Hostel was out of order. I was waiting in the scorching Sun rays outside with my family and luggage. I was asking some local people for help. At around 03:15 pm one Local Gentleman asked me to wait in his place and he called over mobile few persons known to him and working in that Guest house. At around 03: 30 pm, that Kind Gentleman discovered that the care taker was sleeping in the Guest House with locking of main door and other all doors. We checked in at 03:30 p.m. in the 5 Bedded AC room. One AC was out of Order. All light except one was out off order. The Geysar was of order. Bathroom door has without handle and you will require another person to open from inside. Govt. should take action against the caretaker and the property needs renovation and maintenance. Otherwise this is completely a wastage of money to book this property. A miserable and worthless service, third class accommodation and caretaker....please avoid this property.

It is at a side of Kanchenjungha stadium but no Nameplate or direction outside. Even local auto/ rickshaw does not know the position. It is precious, so many ac and non ac rooms, Hongkong market at walking distance. Staff was cooperative. Just need a little maintenance and advertising

It has been must renovated as soon as possible. But staff behavior is outstanding. 5 Bedded rooms are ok, but dormitories aren't good.

Nice and affordable place for resting for peole who visit Siliguri for work purpose.

Cheap dormitories with basic facilities. Not maintained well. Fans not working. But dormitory has around 18 beds and ample space. The caretakers are good. Big lawn. You can do camp fire here. Very near to Hong Kong market. Not many good restaurants around. Cheap food widely available.

I was bit skeptical about the hostel. My thoughts changed when I saw the rooms. Very spacious room with 4 single beds. Well cleaned. The bathroom are equipped with geyser. The room rent is very much affordable.

Place is good only for single male students or traveller. Not too good place to stay there because building is too old so I'm not sure u would like but canteen food is too good or cheap so you can have there veg or nonveg ...

Good arrangement for solo youth.. foods are excellent with reasonable price. Cleanliness needs lots of care. Not at all upto the mark.
