Kanchanjangha View Point - Tourist attraction in Kolbong Forest, Rishop - , India

Lovely place to view kanchanjangha. Big area covered from here. From lava it take 1 an half hr. Road is not good condition but too much adventure.

It's a good place to visit . You can see the sun rise and the kanchanjangha . I will advice you take warm clothes if you are visiting the place between November to March . You need reserve a car for yourself and you should reach the point by 4:30 am or else you won't be able to see a clear view of the sun rise and Kanchanjangha . You can also carry binoculars .

Rishop is one of the best place to enjoy the scenic beauty of Himalayan Mountain Range. You will get 180 degrees view of mountain range. Kanchenjunga snow peak is well visible from here.

Kangchenjunga is the third highest mountain in the world. The view from the Kangchenjunga View point of Rishop is mesmerizing. In sunny day you can see the orange colored mountain during sunrise and at the time of bad whether(cloudy) you may able to see Kangchenjunga covering under the clouds.

This place provides great views of kanchenzonga on a clear day, but unfortunately when we visited it was very foggy blocking the view completely. The chilling weather with mist floating around and colourful flowers here and there created the perfect environment to sit quietly and get lost in the beauty of nature. Vehicles usually charge Rs 900 to 1000 for sightseeing that includes Deolo hill too.

Overcast/hazy day. Travelled from Kalimpong so traffic not bad and the road repair crews were off. The ride up from 6 mile Post was steep but not too bad. Shame about the clouds.

This is a mind blowing view point. I'm my little experience with the Himalaya, I cannot give you a better view point of Kanchendjonga other than from Sandakfu. It is mesmerizing to see the peak almost just outside of your window. I would also suggest to book hotel Himalayan Hut in Rishap because this one is practically the last hotel of the ridge and absolutely nothing but the endless mountain range between you and the peak. in the no moon season three night sky and the horizon get absolutely mixed with each other to give you an to give you a hallucinating effect where you cannot definite the horizon. It's a must visit guys...

Beautiful place, but bear in mind that in monsoon you'll only have about a 30% chance of viewing the Kanchenjunga, since the skies are cloudy.
