This is ruin of a what was once upon a time a seven storied house. It's Arches built entirely using brics and no other reinforcement is something that amazes the visitor. If someone is visiting Mehkar in Buldhana district of Maharashtra, this place can be added to the itinerary.
This place should be maintained by Government. Archeological Survey of India or any authority seems not interested to look into conseration of this historic building. No details abailable for new visitors here.

Kanchani mahal is a historic place in Mehkar. At the ancient time it was said that a rajkumari is lived within mahal which was seven floor. Daily she saw the light within the temple of kamalja mata mandir, lonar. But one day unfortunately the mahal was broken down and rajkumari was died and whisper to stone which was present in mahal (story is based on the people who told). Now only one floor of mahal is present which is situated on the Mehkar - Shegaon highway.

Kanchani Mahal is an old building. It is a myth that Queen Kanchani was very egoist & had desire to see Lamp of Devi (Lonar) from Mehkar. She built up this Mahal but when she went to terrace of Mahal god curse her, she felt down & become a slab of stone. The aforesaid monument is currently in ruins due to lack of attention from the ASI. However, the story connected to KANCHANI MAHAL seems to be a myth.
