One way to describe this place is - "A weekend jaunt".
It's just an hour or so journey from Thodupuzha town but entirely different vibe. We feel more close to the misty mountains and nature. You get away from the city crowds and vehicle horns to a peaceful foggy and misty atmosphere.
The villas are quite good not in a luxury sense but decent. We do have to pre-order the dinner, breakfast, and lunch. There isn't a variety of options available but you will kind of enjoy the limited menu too.
You can explore the area in the evening for example the kulamav dam and other hidden spots on the way. A small trekking is also possible during the morning..
Overall it's a beautiful place for a blissful weekend.
Kananam Retreat is an amazing place to get away from the city grind and rush. It is the ideal spot to get some peaceful rest and enjoy with friends and family. The view is the best because of the altitude. Rooms, service and all other facilities are top notch.
Super rude manager. Went there on a hike and manager came in an shoo's us off with zero hospitality or even spending a second in his uptight compound.
Fwlt auper aweful with with hipocritic behaviour.
Went for inquiry with my family for a family get-together function but was literally shooed away by the staff (bald guy) when we told we don't have a booking. He didn't even ask why we were there in the first place.. such arrogance is unacceptable in hospitality business.. never going there again, nor i am recommending this to any of my friends. (The property had no signs or writings on the way mentioning that there is no entry without booking)
In the end they lost good business we found miles better properties not too far away with better views and amenities.
The best place to hangout with friends, family if you want to be one with nature, i guess this is the best place to go. Peacefull atmosphere good vibes. Excellent Location, Superb Hospitality.. A must visit place.. Highly recommended.
A great destination for people who love mountains and trekking. Well maintained single/double bedroom cottages with adjacent parking which can accommodate one or two cars easily. We did a staycation and stayed two nights at this property.
You don't have to go anywhere else to enjoy the scenic view of the sky and sunset. Food is available at affordable prices.
The staff are very helpful and quick to provide the needs. The cottages have a good hall and a kitchen (though utensils are not available and I couldn't understand the purpose of the same).
We booked 2- 2bhk cottages...rooms were clean and tidy. We had a peaceful stay. Food was good. The view from the cottages are beautiful. Highly recommended for families & group trip
Ambience and mood created by the location was priceless. Little bit costly if it was less by Rs750-1000 , then it would be a great choice to recommend.
