It's so beautiful to watch the BIG INDIAN FLAG.
I have booked this homestay for 2 nights. We booked 2 rooms, their customer service was really good. Actually, we were coming to trivandrum for the first time, they have given a good idea about the place, so that our trip saved a lil bit more time. The staffs are so friendly and kind. This place is near to Padmanabhaswamy temple and Pazhavangadi temple. And Kanakakunnu palace is also within a radius of 3km. If you are first in TVM, highly recommended.
The Kanakakunnu Palace's flag post in Trivandrum is a subtle yet significant historical landmark. The flag post, standing tall, is emblematic of the rich cultural tapestry that Trivandrum holds. Historically, flag posts were integral to royal palaces, symbolizing authority and pride. The Kanakakunnu Palace itself, a testimony to Kerala's royal legacy, surrounds the flag post. Originally built as a guesthouse for the Travancore royal family, it later became a prominent venue for cultural events. The flag post, in this context, becomes a silent witness to the unfolding cultural history of the region. Standing beneath the flag post, one can almost feel the resonance of a bygone era. It serves as a reminder of the traditions and ceremonies that once graced the palace grounds. The architectural aesthetics of the flag post, although understated, add a touch of regality to the overall ambiance. Moreover, the panoramic view from the flag post allows visitors to appreciate the city's landscape, creating a unique blend of historical immersion and contemporary beauty. In essence, the Kanakakunnu Palace's flag post encapsulates not only the grandeur of the past but also invites contemplation on the evolving cultural identity of Trivandrum.
One of the best place which can be upgraded as a tourist attraction spot but one of the typical example of tourism mismanagement in Kerala. Renovation works going slower than snails. Whose responsibility, Who cares..
Nice place to sit and relax, hangout with friends. There is a restroom and a snack shop. An open theatre is also there in the kanakakunnu palace campus normaly conducting cultural events. The campus also has 2 Pillar monument and in the eve we can see boys doing hiphop dance in the near by platform .
The largest flag post in the city can be viewed from Napier Museum and the surrounding areas. On special occasions, the largest Indian flag is hoisted here.

Calm and peaceful walkway along the Karamana River, and in the mid'st of town. But you will never feel it, and it gives the impression of a village. Good for a morning walk or a stroll anytime, as the entire path has trees on both sides and good shad
I recently visited the Vettukad beach in Trivandrum and I was very impressed with the atmosphere there. The beach is situated close to the Vettukad Church, so it was quite tranquil. The beach itself was fairly clean and there were plenty of amenities
