Kanaisahar is a hill situated at a distance of 48km from Jhargram and 10 km from Belpahari, bordering Jharkhand. It is simply a sight of rugged beauty. Flanked on each side by dense forest, Kanaisahar Mountain stands out as a towering glory of nature. However, the best time to visit West Bengal is generally considered to be between October and March when the weather is pleasant and ideal for sightseeing. During this time, the temperature ranges between 10degC and 20degC, making it comfortable for outdoor activities.

Kanaisar hill worship (Saturday, July 1, 2023) 102 years ago today, in 1328 Bangalabd, Sri Yogesh Chandra Bose Mahashay in his "History of Medinipur" published from Calcutta mentions about 'Kanaisar Pahar Puja' held every year on the third Saturday of the eighth month in Sandapara village panchayat area of Belpahari, Binpur number two collective development area of Jhargram district. Did :- "On the western border of this district there is a hill called Kanaisar in Binpur thana. It is the highest among the hills in this region. Puja is held twice in this hill every year in the month of Ashada. On that occasion, people come from Bankura, Manbhum, Sinhbhum etc. The view of the mountain peaks is very beautiful. .There are various kinds of strange and strange growths. There are also huge trees. The summit country is extensive; only six acres of land are bare plains. The remaining fifty-six acres are densely forested. At one place the ruins of a dilapidated ancient temple can be seen. Thus Legend has it that, a long time ago, the mountain was worshiped at that place. But after the sacrifice, no one had the right to stay or go there. Once the worshiper forgot to bring the sacrificial sword and when he went up to bring it again, he saw that the deity had two tigers there. Leia is seated. The deity admonishes, 'Never come here again--worship below from now on. Till then no one worships the dead, nor does anyone climb up. Whether by the deity's command or not, the worshipers who are so high up there are neckless. It can be said without a doubt that he did not dare to sit and worship in the dilapidated temple of the place. There is a wide place called 'De Harir Sthan' in Paharchir Sahudesh, where there are some big stones. At that time the worship is first performed at that place. Then there is a way to go up from the eastern side of the mountain, if you climb some distance on that way, you can reach the second place of worship. As the place is very steep, many people cannot live there together. If a group comes down, another group can go up. The place of worship has a Prakash vastha about a hundred cubits long and about fifty cubits wide and correspondingly high. Through it is a womb; When the puja is over, the pilgrims place their hands on the womb with amalaki and pushpanjali. Pujari said, the sooner the amalaki and flower fall into the hands of the person, the sooner the wish is fulfilled. And whoever does not fall into his hands at once - his mind is not fulfilled. There is a well in the mountain valley. Although its depth is only two or three cubits, as there is a spring connected with it, even though five or six thousand people drink water during the fair, its water flows evenly; The water is clean too." Incidentally, this year i.e. 15th Ashad Saturday of 1430 Bengal, English 1st July 2023, this Kanaisar Pahar Puja falls on Saturday. 'Kanai (Krishna?) God' has become 'Kanaisar/Kanaishahar' hill puja. On the second day of this puja, the tribals have their own puja at the adjacent 'Barhaghat'. 'Barah Ghat' has been popularized from 'Barah (Swine) Ghat/ Bara Ghat'. Kanai Sar Pahar Puja is currently in charge of Sevait Sri Sahadeva Naik (Swamiji), Sri Rabindra Naik, Sri Gauranga Naik and Sri Danava Naik Mahasayara of Dhengam village in Kendadangri, Chakulia block, East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand state. Sahadeva Babu said that they have been doing this puja from generation to generation. They are called 'Laya or Dehri' in the local language. Although he could not confirm how many men have been responsible for this puja before, he said that his father, grandfather, grandfather and great-grandfather are also associated with this puja. They are associated with this puja for more than 300 years. Information: Bidhan Debnath Known Unknown Jhargram-Jhargram-Shalful, Lalmati N More Known unknown Jhargram (JHARGRAM)
