Kambi Gate is a small Market like location. Mostly vegetables are sold here. Initially farmers from local near by villages sold their vegetable produce. The name Kambi Gate is because British people made a compound like Metal gate to Railway colony, which stands between C Type Residential houses of Railways and Melakalkandar Kottai area.

Nice small market place for every body. During festival season, the while population of Trichy come here to do marketing. Here you buy all the things like gift items, gold, silver, clothes, sarees, diamonds, old books, new books, flowers for hair, clips, socks, scent balls. It all start from the gate and ends at the other side of the gate which is 5kms distance. Here everyone earns either money or items. Nice place to visit.
