Going to Kamakhya Temple is like a special trip uphill. The temple looks very pretty with its designs. People do special things there to feel close to their gods. During festivals, like Ambubachi, it's even more exciting and busy.
Kamakhya Temple sits on a hill and is dedicated to the goddess Kamakhya. The hill's view adds to the beauty. Crowds, especially during festivals, can be overwhelming. The rituals are fascinating, but some maintenance could improve. They also serve free food at certain times. It's a peaceful place for self-reflection. Overall, visiting the temple was a profoundly moving and enriching experience for the soul.
The place is crowded with devotees.. it's a really beautiful and holy place. Whenever I visit temple I feel some kind of peace within myself and start to see and think things more deeply. It's really a healing place.. it's really a magical place. Our hearts become pure when we truly worship there and think good for others.
I recently visited Kamakhya Temple and was left in awe of its rich cultural significance and spiritual energy. The temple is located atop a hill and provides a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape. The temple itself is dedicated to the goddess Kamakhya, and the rituals and traditions surrounding the temple are truly fascinating. The intricate carvings and architecture of the temple are also noteworthy and add to the overall beauty of the complex. The temple staff were very welcoming and provided useful information about the history and significance of the temple. You have to wait for 8 hours in queue for general darshan. Weekends may be more crowded.
One of the most powerful temple of Devi. Just simply visit this temple and feel the energy of Devi. You may feel low while waiting in queue but wait for Devi darshan ..you will forget every pain. One simple advice, while waiting in queue try to be in silence instead chit-chating , you will definitely feel that energy of this powerful temple.
One of the shakti peet of divine Goddess mata. Kamakhya Devi Temple is not just a place of worship but a symbol of the divine feminine energy that permeates through the cultural fabric of India. Visiting the temple was a profoundly moving and enriching experience for the soul. Kamakhya Temple sits on Nilachal Hill and hill's view adds to the beauty. Crowds, especially during festivals, can be overwhelming. The rituals are fascinating, but some maintenance work need to be done ans facilities can be improved for tourist traveling from long distance. They also serve free food at certain times. It's a peaceful place for self-reflection.

A trip to Guwahati is incomplete without a visit to Kamakhya temple. The visiting times are 8AM to 1 PM and 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. General tickets are free of cost, whereas devotees booking a Rs501 ticket get some preference. General ticket holders need to stand in the queue, starting at the information center (near car drop point). The paid visitors need to go up to the top till the arch, where a waiting room is meant for them. Volunteers will manage the queues. Management within the temple premise is very professional. There is well maintained & clean restrooms. Tobacco usage is prohibited. Photography in the inner sanctum is restricted. On weekends, holidays & special occasions, the wait time is more. Once done here, one can move up the hill to visit Bhuvaneshwari temple. This is currently under construction but provides a beautiful view if the Bramhaputra river & Guwahati. Must visiting.
