Kalyani - Train station in Kolkata, Kalyani - Nadia, India

Kalyani is a planned urban city in Nadia district in the Indian state of West Bengal. It is also a municipality and Community Development Block in Nadia. It is located around 50 kilometres (31 miles) from Kolkata -- the capital of West Bengal. Kalyani is the administrative headquarters of Kalyani subdivision. It resides on the eastern banks of Hooghly River, and is part of the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA).

Kalyani railway station is one of the best station. All necessary things like food, drinking material and also garments ar allways available here. There are four (4) platforms in total. It is very close to main road so one can easily reach there. Sangam multiplex is also near to the station. The station is very clean and the station authority is aslo very good and helpful.

Kalyani Station is a railway station of Sealdah route. One can access Sealdah Naihati, Kalyani Simanta, Ranaghat, Gede, Krishnanagar connecting trains from Kalyani Station. The station consists of three platforms for main line and two platforms for chord line(Kalyani Simanta). But the drawback is many trains are of 9 coaches instead of 12 coaches which make inconvenience of passengers and make the trains over crowded. It should be announced properly if the trains are of 9 coaches. The station is well decorated. The entrance of the station is beautiful. In front of the station there is the main road. One can access Tribeni as well as Kalyani by road.

Kalyani, a small residential town in West Bengal which was planned and conceived by Dr. B.C.Roy, the former CM of West Bengal. This town marks the start of Nadia district and end of North 24 Parganas district. The town was built with a plan and has well planned roads and parks. Local trains are available from the station to Sealdah . This town is covered by three railway stations, Kalyani Main, Kalyani Ghoshpara and Kalyani Simanta. Kalyani main is covered by ask local trains towards Ranaghat, krishnanagar, generic, shantipur but other two stations are covered only by Kalyani Simanta local from Sealdah. To reach Kalyani University campus, Kalyani Ghoshpara station is nearest railway station. If you want to go Sangam Multiplex then you have to drop at Kalyani station & walk about 32 meter .

The place is so clean and well equipt . Roads ar not too busy. Very peaceful city . You can get all type of facilities , you need. In every way you will found small parks . Over all this is good place.

This station is located on the Sealdah main line . Here all the trains stop without the Express trains. The station is large and beautiful. There are separate waiting room for boys and girls to sit in . Hospital and Universities are located beside the station so it is very crowded all year round . There are an accessible toilet . Beside,there are many food and fruit shop. The station is very clean so you can stay overnight if you want.

It is a very important station in the Sealdah Ranaghat Main line. It is well connected to Kolkata. The station premises need maintenance and cleanliness should be upgraded. Washrooms are very untidy. Announcements of train arrival should be louder and more clear.
