My favourite place forever, greenary temples scenary can't explain in words.I Love Kalya
It's village and don't expect more
Historically this village is a most cared village during Krishnadeavaraya's ruling time in Vijayanagar. Prominent disturbances between Jains and Vaishnavas were the main reasons for this village to note by Krishnadeavaraya. Even Veerashaiva sect have its signature in the history of this village. It is believed that the great Kannada - Telugu sharana Palkurike Somanatha died here. And a Samadhi on Kalya hill is still considered as Somanatha's Samadhi. The name Kalya is simplified version of Kalleha which is called in Vijayanagara ruling time.
