Kallada Stream Ottakal - Park in Ottakal - Kollam, India

Seemed like a nice place to me. There was little water in the project at the time of my visit. Big rocks in the river and the sand were the main attraction. Although its not allowed to enter vehicles to the river, i stopped by only to ride my bike on the sand in the river. Btw I'm not so good with photography

Excellent place cool off your mind. Nice cool water to swim. Take extreme care while entering to lake because there are hidden caves which is very dangerous. Also there are many crystal pieces are in the lake which cause deep cut in your feet. Small fishes also available in there, so make sure that you don't have any wound in your body because they will bite off those portions. Whatever the place we loved most because of the cool water.

View of the kallada river, flowing from the Thenmala dam, making hundreds of small water falls is beautiful, and at the same time, the area is dangerous too, with deep holes hidden inside the water. If you are not familiar to this place, it's not advisable to enter in to the water

Great place to visit if you are traveling through the punallor route there are so many tourist attraction near these place like the pallaruvy, the dam , adventure spot, boating etc the scenary from the top of the stream is amazing the use of this project is that Kallada River is one of two major rivers that flow through the Kollam District of Kerala, India. It originates on the Kulathupuzha hills near Ponmudi and travels for 121 km, flowing through Punalur, Pathanapuram, Kunnathur and Kallada before ending at Ashtamudi Lake. The Palaruvi Falls also feeds Kallada river. Kallada irrigation and Tree crop development scheme is the largest irrigation project in Kerala. The command area of this project is distributed over Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha district and coveres Pathanapuram, Kottarakkara, Kollam, Kunnathur, Karunagappally, Adoor, Mavelikkara and Karthikappally Taluks. The scheme was planned to irrigate net cultivable command area of 61630 Ha. During the course of execution few canals including Kayamkulam Branch canal were dropped and now this scheme benefits a net cultivable command area of 53514 Ha in 92 villages. Left and right bank main canals are fully completed.

Just beautiful, on the side of the road. No problem to park. You can walk around
