Kalia Chop Dokaan - Fast food restaurant in Cuttack - Cuttack, India

You know a small place is famous when its the landmark in the area for finding houses. This place was originally started by their father has grown to the behemoth it is. Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday are the busy days in here. Every small chop is Rs.5 (As of 2023) in here. I have been eating here since the last 15 years on and off. No parking as its on the lane itself so park you 2-wheeler on the side and enjoy some hot chops. Just dont throw garbage anywhere and have the decency to park your vehicle such that others can still drive on the road.

Cuttack is a place with many small scale eateries.. like many of them, this Kalia Chop dukan is located in one narrow lane of Professor Pada near one old apartment. The shop owns it's tradition.. But u may feel like it hasn't aged satisfactorily... The same old style is set up with less importance to hygiene and all... Above all that u can try a variety of chops ( chicken,mutton,chinkudi,paneer) - stuffed with mashed potato and dough. Costs around 5-10/ piece Was tasty 3.5/5. Can try as an evening snack spot. Beware of hungry dogs nearby Cons :- The same old shop with minimal cleanliness. Oil can be seen reused since days.

Awesome food.. Mouth watering menu. IT is very famous in Cuttack by the name, " Mutton Chop of Proffessor para,.. " Chops of varied variety .. U can get Mutton Chop, Chicken Chop, Prawn Chop, Egg Chop, Prawn Cutlet, Chicken Wings, Mutton Champ,, U will get a mouthful. Small chops of pieces of chiken, Mutton wrapped in a coating of potato.. Taste it and u shall cherish it. Taste was good especially the chingudi(prawn) chap. But the most beautiful experience was interacting with the owner of the shop, Kalia Bhai...... really friendly attitude and nice behavior.... thank you Kalia Bhai for a happening evening

Over hyped place. Too much crowded but not so good

OK let's start.... Cuttack is a place of wonders.... Here you will find small eateries and shops giving a hard time to the main stream restaurants and hotels... One such place is Kalia Bhai Chop Stall... If you are non-veg lover foodie, then this place should be at the top of your list when you visit Cuttack...It's located in a narrow lane but the food and the food maker Kalia Bhai are both awesome....You can try chops(dumplings) of chicken, mutton, prawns, egg, veg chops too... These chops cost Rs4-5 per piece which is quite pocket-friendly and once you start eating you crave for more... Give this place a definite visit... You'll love it.(NOTE-IT OPENS IN EVENING AFTER 5PM)

My favorite place but not the same taste anymore.

Unique recipe of fried meat mashed inside boiled potato. Overall it's a good experience and Kalia bhaina (owner) is very interactive. The only downside is the reused burned oil. One would experience fresh new flavour at a road side joint.
