Kalavantin Durg Trek - Tourist attraction in Prabalmachi - Raigad, India

This is one of the easy-medium trek for beginners, one can easily get towards the top/base village by trekking for few hours. Also now there are facilities for camp & tents available at the village, where you can stay and food is available easily. You can also put up your own tent at some open area, some villagers might ask you for money for that; you can give them some cash or you can try to tackle if you want, as there's not a rule or any compulsion. The view from the top is enthralling. Note: try avoiding on weekends & rainy season.

One of the most thrilling experiences I've ever had in my life. Did this trek with the help of TrekFit adventures organisation, and every minute of it was ethereal. The trekking distance is not much, but at the same time the trail is rocky, the climb is extremely steep at times and the last 5 minute stretch of the trek has to be done by either rappelling up, or using a rope ladder. So... First timers will have some trouble, but that doesn't mean the trek isn't doable. People with 1-2 trekking experience can finish this with ease. Experienced trekkers can even complete prabalgad trek on the same day. Beware of strong rains and check weather before going into the trail though.

It was such a beautiful place to go for trekking I went there as my 1st treks and I covered both peaks so i would recommend everyone to go for it.. it's very easy and fun for both mountain it took me from morning 8 am to evening 6pm

Kalavantin Durg Trek is one of the most popular treks in Maharashtra. Situated at around 2,205 feet in the Raigad district of Maharashtra, the trek is a perfect one for beginners or adventure seekers. The Pinnacle of Kalavantin is a thrilling experience that one goes for. Amongst the trekking circle, there is a misconception that It is considered as a very dangerous or treacherous trek. The angle of the photos or videos takes this angle for this whole trek. With enough precautions and knowing the trek well, the trek is one adventure that you should go on.

Easy level trek, only the stairs are steep and risky. Trek can be completed in half day so you can use half day for Prabalgad trek. 2 wheeler parking is 30/- On the top of kalavantin you need to use rope. Local people have installed ropes but they charge 30/- per person.

Best time to visit july to september.. Carry water and a nice pair of shoes... All the villagers. Are helpful... It is an easy trek. However, the peak part is a bit challenging. So i would recommend going in a group, especially in the rainy season. Otherwise, quite scenic. Does have washrooms at regular intervals, so females need not worry. Best time to visit would definitely be winters with little to no risk, and monsoons with a bit of risk.
