Kakanakote Safari Center, Dammanakatte - Wildlife and safari park in Manchegowdanahalli - Mysuru, India

My ratings are based on few observations - 1. Buses are comfortable, but we kept seeing a lot of jeeps and which can maneuver easily in different directions. There are no online bookings for Jeeps. This shattered our joy 2. The buses are not Electric, so it makes a lot of noise. They also don't have window bars. So they are not expecting any attacks from the animals. So it's safe. 3. We saw Deers, Elephants and most importantly humans. The humans were roaming around in jeans. The humans were fascinating species and seemed native to the area. 4. The recently completed Power lines run through the forest. This has depleted the number of sightings. 5. Weirdly enough there are very few paths which can go near the lake, so you miss the opportunity to spot animals near the water body. 6. Seat no. 26 is the front row single seat with the best possible view from the bus.

This is one of the 3 Safari entrance to Nagarhole National Park. This gate only bus is available for safari. During the safari, if everyone maintains silence in bus, you may be lucky to listen to alarm calls or roars and help the bus driver in taking you towards the calls. Remember we are into their habitat, be patient and hope for the best, you may have good sightings.

Its best to book tickets online and you can also purchase from counter, but it's highly unlikely you will get one. Weekends there are 2 safaris, one in morning and evening. Each safari lasts for 2.30 hrs. However on weekends its 1.30 hours. The safari happens through buses with capacity upto 20 ppl. The premise has a restroom, coffee and tea shop with some quick snacks.

One of the best safaries I have ever had. Forest is well maintained to get visibility of animals . Got a chance to see the tiger in 6 th safari . We can book ticket online or we can get it from safari Center itself. Week days it is 2.5 hr safari and weekends it is 1.5 hr. Better to choose weekday. Accomodations are little bit costly for a family . We also have budgeted farm houses near by .

Book tickets one week in advance! The landscape is very unique and beautiful! Definitely worth the visit! Spotted tiger and 2 cubs , wild elephants, wild boar, deer, mingoose and varied birds. Kabini is the one of the expensive place to visit; but its worth a try!

Generally termed as another home for wildlife photographers and enthusiasts . It's always a go to plan with the friends to kabini and end up doing multiple safaries inorder to sight the beauty of this forest and it's incredible fauna .
