Kadakwasla lake - Tourist attraction in Pune - Pune, India

Dam / Lake is open for all without tickets. It's much better than what it was a decade ago however still needs to be kept clean. Many Street food vendors selling snacks and tea at high rate without worst quality and hygiene. Visit there to sit and enjoy the view. Eat and drink roasted corn and bottled water. Everything else is tempting but better to avoid.

It is a beautiful place to hang out. Nice breeze blowing throughout, many hawkers to choose to eat from. If you want to enjoy beauty of nature you can visit kadakwasla. The best thing is it is easily reachable, a bit crowded but I think you can manage.. beautiful place to relax and enjoy nature

The place is excellent. I went with a friend just for peace with a pleasant view and the place was exactly as i expected. Yes due to traffic I reached late but it was really worthy traveling even in traffic. There are many snacks options nearby.. As the place just besides road there is no much place for parking but manageable.

The lake in itself is beautiful and big. But no viewing areas, whatever small area is left is occupied by food vendors. Sad that many tourist places have become like this in India now where vendors occupy the entire space. There should be a limit to this.

I have been to Khadakwasla several times, it is barely an hour's drive away from Pune city. There is a section of the dam that you pass while en route to Sinhagad fort (or driving back from the fort), where you can stopover. At the time of writing, the general public is allowed to venture into the water. This is a great place to have a nice swim. The water is considerably shallow and safe for 25 metres or so. You may undertake going further at your own risk. Post a swim, you can satisfy your appetite too. There are handcart vendors selling delicious snacks ranging from bhel puri, pani puri, sweet corn (seasonal), etc. There are comfortable straw mats spread out for you to watch the sunrise/sunset and basically, relax. The crowds throng the place on weekends, so if you are looking for peace and quiet, an evening trip between Mon-Fri is recommended. The Khadakwasla Dam is worth a 2-3 hour halt. It is a good breather in most seasons, a cool dip in summer is worth it. You may encounter bad, rough roads in the final three-four kilometers, driving from Pune city and back. social activists bar entry to the water on that day. The place is really very nice . The nature is too much romantic . U can go with your friends, family and partner. The place is very pleasant and silent.

Khadakwasla is a famous and coolest near city place outsiders can easily visit and spend time around. It is an hour drive from Swargate and located on the way to Sinhgad fort. Generally it is a crowded place on weekends and would recommend visiting on a weekday to experience the calmness. You can catch good snaps around. The area is under army control and going near the lake water is restricted due to previous death incidents.
