Kaas - Lake in Kas - Satara, India

Beautiful place to be in over weekends...So far very nicely maintained, best part is no pollution, no garbage only Beautiful scenery and peace. Our slot was 3 to 6 but we were allowed to enter as we had reached early. 2 km one way walk towards kumudini lake was very nice, on either side you would see only colourful Beautiful flowers...Its a great experience. Kas Dam is another beautiful place. Though reaching there is a task as roads are small and not in very good condition.

Kaas is like a mini Switzerland (of summers); impressive green landscape (especially after monsoon), lakes and river around; best part is that it is away from noise of city. You would really breath cleanest air, here. Kass plateau of flowers opens for 2 months (sep-oct). If you are looking for some activities other than just sight seeing and flowers, you can go to Bamnoli and Shivsagar Boat Clubs near by (within 10 km). There are good number of Govt. and private resorts for making your stay comfortable. Even you can stay in main Satara district and relish local delicacies (Savouries; and Strawberry)

Stands by it's title, a world heritage site. Well maintained and breathtaking.

Best time to visit is in monsoons. Lush green mountains surrounding lake make it more scenic.

Amazingly beautiful. The lake, jungle, biodiversity of reptiles and mammals found here is just out of the world. Various medicinal plants can be seen. Berries according the season and the environment is always happening. If you are visiting please mind not to disturb the habitat.cheers...
