KA 12 THE COORG KITCHENETTE - Restaurant in Mangaluru - Dakshina Kannada, India

The name itself gives us the idea about the food. Yes they call them authentic Coorg kitchen and the food is not really bad. Although food is not really 100% authentic. It definitely has a Mangalorian tadka to it. My first visit was not pleasent. Food was oily and too much salty. But this visit i felt a lot of things have changed and owners have taken the negetive reviews positively. About food Every dish had a similar taste kind of tangy and salty. Pork chudals - i have tried it in Coorg, in few restaurants and home cooked version too. I don't really know how authentic chudals tastes like. Because I had all different styles of it. as per me they marinate the pork in vinager and salt and deep fry it. Some add pepper to it, some make it kind of thick pepper gravy, and some just serve it with lemon. Here they marinate the pork in vinager and salt and serve fried pork With lemon which make it tangy and salty. I would rate it 8/10 Chicken kabab - normal fried chicken kababs. They were completely dry and has same chudals touch to it. I would rate it 7/10 Omlette - again completely dry and not up to the mark. I would rate it 7/10 Lemon chicken - it was good, oil fried chicken was added to to a lemon and mixed spices sauce I would rate it 8/10 Pork tawa- this dish would have been much better. Pork slices were deep fried in the same marinade which was used for kababs and it again was tasting like chudals. There was too much oil in it. I would rate it 7/10 Chicken 65- this was good delicious and different. Fried chicken along with its juices added to a tangy sauce with a little grated coconut. Pandy curry and akki rotti - it was a good combination. Pork was good and but greasy. It's an old house converted into a hotel. You can book a room/seating for 250 without ac /350 with AC easily accommodate 4 people in non AC and upto 8 people in AC. They just serve you the food you can get your preferred drink. They have couches in the rooms with attached washroom. Taste 7/10 Ambience 7/10 Service 8/10 Value for money 7/10

Had heard a lot about this place and finally got to visit. The manger was friendly and helped me decide what to order as it was my first visit. I ordered pork curry - akki rotti combo and pork garlic. The food was really good.

We ordered pork pepper dry and egg chilli and trust me that's horrible experience.we never eat such dish ever. Fully oily food and don't have any tatse.i never go again

Nice quiet place away from the crowds with some great pairings of food. The taste is authentic coorgi, very flavourful be it the subtle lemony chudalls or the spiced chops, pepper chicken or the homely chicken pulao. The dumplings( chicken, egg, prawn) deserve a special mention and the sauce that's provided is to die for... Overall a very satisfying meal and high on the taste quotient. Great for take away and for a added variety for your parties... Definitely a crowd pleaser!! Highly recommend!!!

Ordered pork curry with kadubu, they charged Rs280 all together sooo.. Bloody costly and quantity of meat is very less as less than 100 gms. Bloody rip off. Don't go

I got a pork chilly delivered. It was like rock and it definitely didn't taste like chilly. Too much pepper in it. Too bad. I think somehow they manage to hold the 4+ ratings by asking people to give good ratings.never going to order again.

I ordered a Pork roast on Sunday 13 October through Swiggy for Rs.200. Can you believe it the taste was nothing compared to Coorgi pork and the quantity terrible a small container for Rs.200. Please maintain the quantity and the taste. As per your photos it does not match. My MIL makes the best coorgi pork and Biriyani but she is modest. Ask me the recipe.

Ordered Akki rotti, Pork green roast and ghee rice. Food was really rice tasty. Ghee rice comes with chicken curry. Pork green roast has good quantity. Worth it. I love coorgi style food and I am very satisfied.
