Definitely try their fish thali. And the sukha fish chutney is a must try. Service was also good. I highly recommend visiting this place and trying their thalis. The place is quite affordable.
Superb food
Especially the biriyani i ordered kinda reminded me of my home (because it's rare to get such biriyani in other states)

THE BEST IN KUMTA. Superb ambience for a locality of this kind. Surprisingly good and fairly tasty food and pocket friendly for sure for the quantity given. Tea wasn't good tho. But highly recommended for vegetarians.
Stopped at this restaurant at Kumta as I was driving from Goa to Mangalore. It's about 2 and half hours from Cuncolim, Goa on the right hand side of the road if you are travelling towards Mangalore. Never knew about it earlier and happened to find it as it was lunch time and we were not able to find any decent restaurant on the way. They have 2 restaurants in same premises on the first floor, both adjacent to each other but seperated by wall and have their own seperate kitchens. Wash rooms are outside the restaurant common to both veg and non veg customers. I had ordered a veg thali which consisted of 2 chapati, tendli sabji, daal, rassam, rice, papad and 2 gulab jamuns. The special thali has an ice cream in addition to this. Rassam and sabji were excellent with right amount of spices in rassam and right amount of coconut in sabji. The price was very reasonable. Ambience was good, the interiors are pleasant with good lighting. The attendant spoke in Marathi with us recognising that we are from Maharashtra and I could hear other attendants speaking Kokani, Hindi and Kannada. They also sell sweets, Kasha (powder to be put in milk to drink) and Rassam powder. Overall a very unexpected pleasant experience in the trip and would recommend others to also experience the same.
There are two separate sections for veg and non veg. Good enough space for people to sit and eat. Nice ambience as well. Pizzas taste good too. North Indian dishes are authentic in taste. The people who serve here are welcoming the guests and treating them really well. All in all very good experience each time I visit here for food.
Good place for highway stop for a break. All food variety available and taste is good. Clean washrooms too.
