This is a temple of yoga, not a drop-in studio! Only students enter the shala. Beginners are welcome. Deference to the practice, the teacher, and the yogic path is maintained. This place is at the very heart of Ashtanga Yoga in Mysore and practice here is sacred.
This is very special place for ashtangis. Here you still can learn from Saraswathi Jois, the daughther of K. Pattabhi Jois. We still keep going year over year.
Best Ashtanga shala in Mysore. All teachers are patient and very helpful. Also the atmosphere is just like "discipline of Yoga". Here's highly recommended for all levels of Ashtanga practitioners.

This is institute to learn Ashtanga Yog from masters. You need to take admission before coming here. Classes start early in the morning around 4am. You will get your slot for the practice.
I practiced here for about 10 days 2 years ago. Sharmila was visiting from Bangalore to help. She is easily the rudest person i have ever had a chance to meet. Arrogant and narcissistic. If you are of India origin go there to get humiliated.
The place to learn Ashtanga Yoga from the source. for me it was amazing to be there. I found the place and the teachers genuine, caring and attentive with all the neighbourhood a good place for yoga, philosophy, chanting and other related activities. the overall atmosphere was also amazing with like minded people coming toghether from all over the world.
Prominence given only to foreigners. Visited twice and the nepali watchmen didn't allow us to enquire. Not professional at all. There are other Ashtanga Shala's and teachers at Mysore, better to contact them instead of wasting time on these Idiots.
