Jungle by sturmfrei Palolem - Backpacker Hostel in Canacona - South Goa, India

The rooms are big and it's located very close to the beach. But the main issue is there is no signboard on the road saying where the hostel is located. You have to walk through a dark passage with no lighting which is very dangerous for women. Another thing which happened during my stay was the electricity used to go out in the morning and the person who sits at the reception has to be called around 10 times(he only picks up once) and tell him to switch on the generator, to which he reluctantly does. The manager(nikhil) is a very helpful person.

This place is so serene and is beautifully created with functional needs. The beach is just 3 minutes walk away from the hotel. The service is great! Bikes are also easily available around here. Also it's situated between the market area so everything is available easily

The hostel was good, the rooms are spacious, and they have a nice rooftop where you can enjoy your evening playing, talking, or watching movies etc. But the hostel is not directly accessible via 4-wheeler. One needs to walk to reach the hostel and the road is very much muddy during monsoon days and thus difficult to reach there by walking. Moreover there is power cut many times and they did not start the generator immediately when there is a power cut. They wait for the power to come and if it does not come for a longer time, then they start the generator. This is problematic during night hours. Additionally, the generator supports only one fan and one light in each room. The AC in the room and the light in the bathroom is not supported. I am attaching the photograph from the main road to the hostel.

Well.. I am staying here from 9th July and will be leaving on 5th August. This is 30 July and my heart is sinking by the thought that I will be leaving in few days. I am staying in Dormitory which has 8 beds, the bunk bed is super comfortable and the bathroom is clean. They have got workstation which was is the most crucial requirement of my stay. They certainly are delivering more than what I am paying. I am on a solo trip but Nikhil, Prinicia, Surbhi, Rizwan, Kali Bhaiya, Vivek, Vinod Bhaiya, Tribhuvan and Babul made sure that I have a great time. Lastly, the location is just perfect as it is 2 minutes walk from the beautiful Palolem beach, also many restaurants, bars are nearby.

The rooms were really good, but the air conditioning was screwed and had to change rooms at midnight. Rest food and ambience is really good, beach is at a walking distance, and the staff is friendly as well. Will recommend this place for a budget friendly South goa stay

Beautiful place with a great location right next to the beach. The staff is super friendly, clean rooms, good ambience and great atmosphere. Would love to stay here again.

Stayed in a private room, room was really big, clean and air-conditioning worked well. Wifi worked well in common areas. 30 second walk to the beach, you can see the sea from the rooftop bar area. Staff were really nice and helped up with information about transport etc for the rest of our trip. Would definitely recommend, for the price everything was perfect.
