Had a wonderful stay.... enjoyed delicious food delivered by caretaker. Nature surrounded the place on all sides. A highly recommended choice for a getaway. Very family friendly. enjoyed three different kinds of beaches on the same island. Observed different kinds of birds, fishes and low tide/high tide n eddies phenomenon.
I visited with my family for a weekend stay. The cottage is quite comfortable with lot of open space and well equipped. Staff are quite friendly and food was really good. There are lot of activities that you can plan like boating, fishing, going to beach. If you are looking for calm vacation this would be perfect place.
We as a family do not usually go away from home for new year's but in 2022 we decided to go on a vacation for the sake of our 4YO son who had Christmas vacation. We truly got lucky when we got to spend our holidays in Jumadi. It is truly cut off and our arrival to the island is by a short boat ride. Words can't do justice to this beautiful house and island. Situated on an island surrounded by Sita river, and a short boat ride to Delta beach, there's so much to see and do but to do nothing and soak in the serenity is what you feel like doing when you enter the house. The house is comfortable with many sitting areas, maintained very well. Kitchen is very well equipped to cook your meals but Dayanand, the caretakers wife prepares such tasty food that you will just sit back and eat your hearts content on the outside dining table with amazing views of the island. Sunset from the tiny river beach is wonderful and Naveen/Srijan will also take you on a boat ride to Delta beach for a memorable time at sea. Dayanand and Srijan clean the house every day and are just a call away. Mind you, this is someone's house who has decided to share it with like minded people. Do not expect resort kind of facilities but what you can expect is hospitality at its best. Plan at least 4/5 nights here because you will want to soak in the peace and also see hidden gems around the island. Gautham, the owner is so informative and is extremely sweet. He makes sure, he is very clear about what to expect from this place and is very particular about maintaining the sanctity of the place. The island is home to many variety of birds so make sure not to blare music. Be mindful to not litter. Discard plastic/waste only in waste bins in the house. If you get an opportunity to holiday here, just grab the opportunity and go.
We were surrounded by experiences that are difficult to put in words; Suvarna and sita rivers flowing around the home, Gautam's (property owner) conscious efforts to keep the original features of the home (redox floor, mangalore roof tiles, wood, sit-outs inside and outside home), birds, private space to sit and watch sun setting in the river, Dayanand anna's hospitality, soul filling local food from his home, Naveen's support for boating and kayaking.. & so on. All in all a never enough experience!
Loved every minute on this is beautiful island. Tucked away from the madness is this authentic, traditional home that offers everything you need while you disconnect yourself from the outside world. Gautam was super helpful throughout and the food Dayanand served was delicious. And not to forget, Naveen, our neighbor on the island who organised boating and kayaking in this serene backwaters.
It's a small island nestled in the Backwaters away from the hustle and bustle. The place is Pet Friendly that's the main reason why we stayed here. House is built on the ancestral farm of owner Gautam Shetty. The house is designed traditionally and has all the amenities and managed well by caretaker Dayananda, who's wife serves delicious local food both veg and non veg. Perfect place to unwind, relax and do nothing. Place is a Bird watchers paradise.
Spent 5 days here and the days went by very fast. Our 4 yr son spent all day discovering the simple joys of - playing with sand under the shade of trees, chilling in the hammock, sunset boat and kayak rides, listening and watching birds.. A great place away from the hustle and bustle of a city. Very scenic backwaters with lots of wildlife and natural beauty to discover and enjoy..
