A government medical institute and college which provides medical care to all kind of patients from any part of the country. All regular services and facilities are available here. The treatment for almost every ailment is almost free here until they run out of stocks or if they dont have the facility demanded or required. Located on main road, does have ample free parking for small to big vehicles and can be easily found by the needy people. This hospital is surrounded by lots of chemist shops, ATMs , and food joints serving veg non-veg food. The food items on these joints are inexpensive like a plate full of boiled rice with fish curry , two veg curries , chatni , papad costs only INR60/-.
A long felt need of the people of Jorhat was fulfilled with the laying of the Foundation Stone of the Jorhat Medical College by Hon'ble Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh, in presence of Hon'ble Chief Minister of Assam Sjt Tarun Gogoi, Hon'ble Union Minister of Law & Justice Shri Veerappa Moily, Hon'ble Union Minister of Mines and DoNER Shri B.K. Handique, Hon'ble Health Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Hon'ble MLA Shri Rana Goswami and a galaxy of distinguished guests and a huge crowd, on the historic day of 25th August 2008. The Mission took a giant step when the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Assam Sjt Tarun Gogoi inaugurated the hospital wing of the Jorhat Medical College on 12th October 2009. The coming up of the 500+ bedded Jorhat Medical College Hospital equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic, therapeutic ICU/ICCU and patient care facilities including a modern integrated residential campus has brought about a sea change in the health care scenario in the entire district of Jorhat and beyond.
Jorhat Medical College and Hospital OPD complex is vihin size. It is located on the straight road coming from entry gate. It is a big hall in which you can find OPD registration counter, cash counter, free medicine store and way to various OPD. Registration charge is very nominal Rs10/-. There is a separate OPD registration counter for people coming from Majuli.
Toady i went there.. receptionist And their behavior is totally useless towards patients ... Literally they are not attentive ... But the doctors and their medicine were effective...
Very bad experience ... There is long queue on corona testing area ... But they have only one person to test ... This is rediculous ..... Staff was very bad ... They don't have good service .... Very bad hospital
