Had a wonderful stay in Bikaner between 12-15 Sep 2021. I had the good fortune to be guided by Dr. Jitu Solanki and Gautambhai during my visit to Jorbeer and other Bikaner wildlife n birding sites. Gautambhai also accompanied me to DNP in Jaisalmer and that trip too was simply fascinating! Too good! These gentlemen are absolute expert naturalists and hence my photography experience was top-notch. I highly recommend that their expertise must be used while visiting Tal Chappar, Jorbeer-Bikaner, DNP -Jaisalmer and other Rajasthan wildlife locations. Great sighting of Raptors, Foxes, Owls, Jungle cats, Indian monitor lizard etc amongst so many other species of birds. All photos posted with this review were taken by me with help from these two experts. The photo of Egyptian Vulture and the Indian Monitor Lizard was published in the Rajasthan Patrika newspaper on 15th Sep '21 as part of Dr. Jitu Solanki's article on local wildlife ! It was such a great gesture from Dr.Jitu besides helping me with his expertise ! Capt. Andrew Onasis (Anthony)

Jorbeer) isn't a wildlife sanctuary at all, but a government-approved dumping ground for the carcasses of cows, camels, and other animals. The decomposing meat creates an overpowering stench and macabre views, but attracts a number of raptor species, including the critically endangered Indian vulture. Spread over an area of 20-25 sq km, Jorbeed attracts thousands of vultures and other raptors, besides crows, and dogs, seven species of vultures have been recorded at Jorbeed, including the long-billed vulture (Gyps indicus ), white-rumped vulture (Gyps bengalensis ), Eurasian griffon (Gyps fulvus ), Himalayan griffon (Gyps himalayensis ), red-headed vulture (Aegypius calvus ), cinereous vulture (Aegypius monachus ), and Egyptian vulture (Neophron percnopterus ). Due to its popularity, the Rajasthan Forest Department has converted Jorbeed into a Conservation Reserve, which is open to birdwatchers Jorbeed is a "Paradise of Raptors". The conservation reserve-cum-dumping ground increases in winter when migratory species join the gathering. Vultures and eagles can be seen perched on the branches of these trees during the day surveying the spread of carrion below. Foxes

One of the finest places in India to see Vultures and raptors with large numbers. In spite of the place being so good for these birds the government is not doing anything for their protection causing a rapid loss in their numbers. The dumping site is also full of plastics which gets there with the help of stomach of the dead animals. SHAME.

If anyone wants to watch hundreds of raptors of different species, then all one needs to do is come to Jor Beer (jodd' biidd'). Very neer to Bikaner city- just half an hour drive. The carcass disposal ground here attracts different species of raptors to come to this place in abundance. Once you are here you will be able to watch them all. It is good to hire an experienced birding guide who can spot the different birds for your unaccustomed eyes. There is no entry fee here. So all the best.

Jodbeed is a nice place for watching birds and other wild life, it is a small reserve area located near bikaner city, its main attraction is vultures, various types of vultures come here during winter, mainly griffon, cinerious and egyptian. Apart from that many eagles come here, mainly stteppe, imperial, tawny, and greater spotted. It also hosts other wild animals like monitor lizzards, spiny tail lizzard, fox, wild boar, neel gaay, gazzel, and many more. If you are nature lover and are traveling to bikaner its a must visit site.

Great place for wildlife photography lovers , you will get to see a lot of raptors , vultures , eagles and other birds , this place is one of its kind in india , no entry fee is there , the place is still underexposed and underrated , the authorities need to take some serious efforts to make this place more reachable and explorable .

My stay at Hotel Vijayvargiya Dhani was awesome. We were welcomed with traditional music, welcome drink and a garland for every person. The staff were very polite and welcoming. We had like a personal attendant for our dinner and the quality of food
