Jorasanko Rajbati - Historical landmark in Kolkata - Kolkata, India

Strong urge to establish the connection between Rabindranath Tagore & Jorasanko Rajbari is highly misleading for the visitors. There is no connection between Tagore's Thakurbari & Rajbari. Dinendra Narayan Roy had built up this place. Once Laxmi Kanta Roy helped British Govt in various aspects as well wisher. After plassey war in 1857, East India Company offered him 'Roy Bahadur' title. But as per his request, his grandson Sukhamoy Roy conferred this title. Sukhamoy Roy became the only Indian director of Bank of Bengal. He along with his mother Parbati debi, donated large amount for different hospital & road development. This family had tried to maintain a safe distance from polished, fabricated Babu Culture. Dinendra Narayan, the younger generation of Sukhamoy, was the son of Brajendra Narayan Roy. Dinendra Narayan Roy was the commissioner of Kolkata Municipality Corporation (1886-1915) & had served in the position of Calcutta Port Commissioner during 1902-1904. Nowadays, this place at Rabindra Sarani is full of loneliness. Few visitors come to the place during Durga Pujo.

This is not the house related to great poet Rabindra Nath Thakur. This is an old property and also looks good. It is though very near to birth place of great poet. From out side this property looks very nice. Have not entered inside so do not know the condition inside this property.

I visited the place today, on 18th December 2022, mesmerised by it but was very sad that we were asked to leave the property because some Bangladesh m.p. is visiting the place .On days like this the common public shouldn't be fooled. While buying the tickets they should inform the visitor of such tragedies they would have yes this is my grudge as for the first time I came with my whole family to visit from bombay

Monument of Martyrs of Indian National Army : Located at Dufferin Road, this is a war memorial that is dedicated to the soldiers and martyrs of the Indian National Army which was founded by Subhash Chandra Bose. The history of this place can make one feel nostalgic by remembering their bravery and sacrifices. Looks stunning at night because of installation of lights.

It's a 5 minute walk from Girish Park metro station. A half day outing would suffice for Jorashanko. But the memoirs of Rabindranath are less in number here. Shantiniketan> Jorashanko.

Recently visited jorasanko Rajbari and I was fortunate enough to meet the owner of this heritage property with whom I discuss how it feels to stay there. It's a 275 years old property. I loved it and Im sure if you visit you will Love it as well. It's really nostalgic to see such beautiful place which shows how beautiful was our past.

It became such an extraordinary in addition to nostalgic feelings on seeing the ancestral domestic of our first Nobel Laureate RABINDRANATH TAGORE. This red brick building has been the home for tagore's because the stop of the 18th century.
