Jor Mandir Temples - Featured Reviews (469)
A complex of three temples known as the Jor Mandir. These temples were built by Malla King Krishna Singha in 1726.Each temple has a single dome (eka ratna). All these temples are square, and constructed on a raised platform and surmounted by a single sikhara with a sloping roof. The central temple is elaborately ornamented with exquisite stucco work, depicting scenes mostly from Ramayana and Krishna Lila.

Historical place. Example of temple architecture of ancient Bengal. Maintained by A.S.I. Tickets available online unless procured physically from the counter at Rasmancha.
Moreover, it gives us a chance to speak out our minds and unwind and relax. Further, we also get to enjoy physical activities during picnics. The walks and games are beneficial to our body and improve our stamina too.

Amongst a plethora of unique Terracotta Temples scattered throughout Bishnupur, the Jor Mandir Temples are the ones that I liked the most. It's located near Poramatir Haat and can be easily accessed by walking during your trip to the renowned Chinnamasta Temple. Apart from the three breathtakingly captivating temples, what I loved the most was the reposeful environment of this place. This area is so serene, peaceful and holy that you feel like spending your entire day here itself. The garden is replete with colourful flowering plants, flock of parrots, lush green grass and narrow walkways made from red-soil. All the three structures take you back hundreds of years into the glorious past of Bishnupur. You can find those fading intricate artworks on the outer terracotta walls of the temples, constructed by expert ancient craftsmen. Tickets are not required for entering the temple premises. I would highly recommend tourists to visit this temple while exploring Bishnupur.
Wonderful place to spend time. Built approx 300 years ago it was built. One of the oldest group of temples is in Bishnupur. Laterite soil designs can be seen. Along with temples, one beautiful ground is there. Various deity designs are there but temples are naked standing without deities.
The detailing is very beautiful. The curving is very minute. The structure is still standing which is very surprising. No tickets needed. There is no security guard there. Locals protect this beauty.
