John Friends Guest House - Hotel in Srinagar - Srinagar, India

John and his family will make you feel right at home! The guesthouse has a beautiful green garden with apple trees where you can relax and escape from the busy streets. The rooms are clean and spacious with a nice view on the surrounding gardens. We came back a couple of times and John greeted us like friends. Early morning you should rent one of his boats to paddle to the floating veggie market, it's amazing. He also has beautiful Pashmina shawls that you should check out! Thank you for the good time! Such a warm, peaceful and welcoming stay with John, his son Suhail and the rest of the family. The room was really clean and comfortable and the shower was hot. A wonderful stay and I can't wait to visit again - thanks John!

John friends guest house was one of the highlights of our trip to India. The guest house itself is beautifully set amongst a stunning garden abundant with roses and other gorgeous flowers and the rooms are large, spacious and light. Jonah and his family couldn't have done more to make us feel at home. We shared tea with them in their living room, explored the Saturday morning market on their boat and came away with a new set of friends. I was really unwell during my stay in Srinagar and ended up in hospital. When I was admitted Jonah turned up and spent hours helping me to get the right medication, talking to the doctor's etc. He was simply amazing and went above and beyond to help us and make us feel welcome! I cannot recommend John friend's highly enough ~ you'll not only leave with some new friends but you'll feel instantly at home.

If you are looking for a peaceful and cosy place in the noisy and dusty town of Srinagar, go to John Friend guesthouse. A little heaven, well located near the lake and low budget, you will find a welcoming home where Jonah and all his will take care of you. No doubt, if I come back in Srinagar, I definitely know where to go.

very good behaviour of hotel staff and very cooperative too. parking is not available so if you have a personal vehicle then you need to park on the road or paid parking which is 10.minues of walking. TV available and have kids favourite channels too. clean and nice room. wifi available and nice network inside room. hotel is 2-3 minutes of walking distance from road.

What to say...John friend's is the place to be when in Srinagar! Close to the lake but away from the crowd... inside you will be pleased by a beautiful house sinked in a very cosy garden! John is very resourceful and all his family members are nice and friendly! Plus it's possible to rent a boat and go for a ride in the lake. Thanks for everything man...and may the future will bring freedom to Kashimir!

Supposed to stay 3 days but it ended up in 7. The family is so kind and the place really welcoming. Area is quiet and close to Dal Lake and Dal Gate. All shops and restaurants are walking distance. The tea they make is absolutely delicious !!! Thank you so much for this time.

The owner is co-operative. Family is decent. Rooms are spacious. Very near to DalGate, the benefit is sharing autos or public transport is catchy from room. Only thing is Azan sound is loud as mosques are very near. Always carry a thin bedsheet to cover the inner part of the blanket when you travel Kashmir as Blankets are not washed due to cold weather. #Owner did not give us Towels but he gave to other room member.
