For any Single Malt connoisseur, this is a rare opportunity in India to visit a distillery and also have a good tasting experience. A must visit for any Whisky aficionado. Jagannath at Paul John was extremely courteous and helpful making the visit memorable.
One of the best experience till date. We went for Tour and it was unexpectedly so awesome. The guy gave us briefing so nicely. You can taste the fresh spirit in the brewery. It comes with 3 packages a. Only tour for 350/-. b. Tour with 3 whiskey tastes for 650/-. c. Tour with 5 whiskey tastes for 1000/-. a must visit experience in South Goa.
We visited the distillery last week. Huge space. Extremely well maintained. Very well lit and polite staff. We got in touch with Mr. Bhavish for details about the tour and tasting. Their website has all of the details listed as well. The tour lasts about 30 to 45 mins. Starts with a small video about the brand and the other areas of business they are into and then you're taken to the distillery to see the whole process. The person who guided us through the distillery was patient and answered all the questions we had. It was not rushed at all. Overall it was a great experience. Book 2 days before your planned visit date and make space in your bags to bring back goodies! :)
I'm not a Whiskey person, yet I enjoyed the tour. Enjoyed the engaging conversations by the guide and a very interactive tasting session that explains in detail how to truly understand and enjoy your whiskey. Definitely worth a visit Plus the interiors of this place has a beautiful old world charm with pure wood decor and beautiful colours. Instagrammers will truly love this place.
This place is the equivalent of Disney land for someone that is in to scotch & single malts or even just starting to get into it. Magnificent single malts and the tour guides are friendly and knowledgeable. Jagarnath was our tour guide and he used alot of humor to keep the tour enjoyable for everyone. The tour is about 2 hours so eat before you get here. I only wish there was a restaurant on site as I would have loved to have lunch here after the tour and maybe enjoy some Paul John with food. But still you should add this to your list.
A 'Diamond' tucked away in an Industrial estate. Fabulously designed and maintained Visitor center belies the industrial surrounding. Whiskey tasting tour is informative and thorough explaining each process step in detail. Gives one a feeling of being on the BBC's 'Inside the factory' programme. Tour guide, Jagannath, was very friendly, knowledgeable and answered all questions with sufficient details. Learned quite a few things about making of Indian Single Malts including the very greedy and equally happy 'Angels' of Goa. Tour culminates with a tasting experience which is equally enjoyable and informative. A must visit for all Spirit lovers and others too. No need to wait for a visit to Scottish Highlands for a genuine Single Malt experience!!
A must visit place if you are into Whisky. Important note - the Distillery is currently closed as it is under expansion. New copper pots etc. are being installed. And hence, Distillery tour is not available. It is expected to restart Mar/Apr 2023. If you visit now, you are given an informative session on whisky making. They show you the grains and explain the difference between peated and non-peated as well and also let you experience it. This is followed up by the whiskey tasting session. I must say that they really invest time here - all the nuances are well explained and color, nose, palate for each whisky is elaborately explained. The entire thing took almost 1.5 hours. I will recommend that you taste all the available selections to be able to really understand the differences. One can buy all their Whiskies at the visitor centre including an edition that is limited to sale at the distillery only. You can also buy other liquors from their stable. There is no special discount! There are other Paul John artifacts (tshirts, sweatshirts, glasses, fridge magnets, etc.) available for sale too. One piece of advice - if you plan to visit, just don't drop in there unannounced. It is better you call and get information on the batch timings and visit accordingly. If you have already been to distillery tours in Scotland etc, you should still visit here - This is an entirely different and more informative experience.
Enjoyed the tour and the tasting. Mr Jaganath was very helpful and well versed with the single malt process. He patiently answered all our questions and explained the finer nuances of the whiskeys. It's a must visit for lovers of whiskey
