Barmer Fort occupies an unrivalled place as Rajasthan's oldest fort. Located on a steep hill, this fort was built by Rawat Bhima in 1552 AD after he moved to this place from Juna. The hill over which the fort is located is as high as 1383 feet. However, Rawat Bhima got Barmer Garh established at a height of 676 feet to make it safer. The road to the fort is quite narrow; nonetheless, it offers rewarding sights of the region. The main entrance gate of Barmer Fort is from north gate, whereas the safety walls are made towards the east and west gate. Next to the fort is Jogmaya Devi temple which is also known as Garh Mandir. Another shrine located on the same hill is Nagnechi Mata Mandir. Both the temples exude peace and positive vibes, and a mela is held every year at these shrines during the nine holy nights of Navratri. A nominal fee has to be paid to reach Barmer Garh.

One of the main temple in Barmer. Highly recommended place to visit in Barmer. Ideal for meditation too. Temple is situated in a elevation of approximately 400ft. Route to the steps of temple is through the narrow roads, in market area so better to go there by two wheeler. One can see entire Barmer city from the top of this hill.

This Temple Is On The Top Of A Peak Of A Hill or Mountain. This A Mountain Area, Spread Almost Or Perhaps 50 Km. This Temple And Mountains Become Charming At Sunrise Sunset. Here Is An Another Temple, Is A Peak Of Another Mountain.

Maa Durga temple on hill top. One of the place from which Barmer is known for. 500 stairs to reach there. Take view of sunrise and sunset and whole city from here. Barmer fort is also on the way to temple. Good place for hangout and worship .

Enjoyed!ivery fun to climb the mountains and reach the temple. I think there are around 400 stairs.temple was open but there was an door before the temple monument. So can't go inside.
