Jhiri Lake - Tourist attraction in Jhiri - default, India

Dramatic rock walls over a peaceful lake in a former quarry, popular for picnics & landscape photos. Good for taking pictures of sunrise and sunset and nothing more. There is no greenery and conditions of road is not good enough. This place is created due to construction process of the road. The stones where taken from this place and deep places formed where waters gathered and made lakes. The place name is jhiri thats why its called jhiri lake. The roads to the lake are under construction even many people comes to see these places and good place to spend some time with friends but good to come in group. This place is very pleasant and peaceful place to be, but you cannot go by Car. Bike ride will be perfect way to go. You can watch a beautiful sunset during winters. Better to go in group rather to go alone.

The place is peaceful and beautiful. However, you would hardly find anyone here. It is actually not a lake but an abandoned stone quarry. A place where stone or geological material is dug from. A quarry lake is a lake that is formed after a quarry has been dug through a mining operation. Water-filled quarries can be very deep, often 50 ft (15 m) or more, extremely dangerous. The place is not far from the city but the spot is isolated. This is a spectacular place for photography. A very eye-catching and soothing location which is nearly 200 meters from the main ring road is a full package of amazing view with lots of photography location. Must visit it if you are really fascinated about any reflection shots and spend your time watching the beauty of the location with your loved ones. Avoid going near cliffs and don't dare to enter the lake. Leave before sunset. Overall a good place to enjoy the scenic beauty..but with caution. Awesome! Hidden gem of Ranchi. After visiting it felt like I am not in Ranchi but heaven. Such a beautiful place, difficult to express in words.

Conditions of roads are not good due to rain, other than that place is sureal.

Good place to visit... But road to get their is very congested. Lake is deep and swoll. Take bath on your own Risk.

Ok I am going to review it on the basis of some parameters like:- * INTRO:- Ok this lake was created through Anthropogenic activities. In easy words it is not a natural lake it is an abandoned quarry. * ACCESSIBLE :- Ya it is accessible but from the kamre ranchi main road you have to drive your vehicle more around 2km through kacha road and it is very rough especially 500m before the lake. Means not a well connected road. * SHOPS :- Sorry for this. This place does not have any kind of shops or restaurants. So I sincerely advice you kindly bring your own required things or stuffs. * TIOLETS :- Hehe no loo facility there. Be careful. * NOT TO DO :- The depth of this lake is sufficient enough to drown you. Kindly ignore especially if you don't know swimming. Don't litter your so called VIP culture here. Means keep the place neat and clean. Collect your garbage or wastes and throw them at a proper place. Don't stay late evening here. Overall good and peaceful place. Visit once for your own satisfaction and experience. Thank you

The place is way too good scenery wise. Needs to be worked on it and it surely will be one of the most crowded tourist places in Ranchi. One can go with friend groups and for the first time they surely have to search a little as the roads are not good and it a little hard to find even with Google maps. I personally felt problem with safety a bit as it was too isolated. But I guess with more development and more people coming in, it will improve and will be a great spot for hangout or picnic.
