amazing place ruined by people. People driving car inside protected areas. Bring dogs and disturb wildlife
The sanctuary is drive in place. The road inside is completely off-road drive and path is levelled. The sanctuary features lots of birds and ofcourse black bucks. In summer parts of the sanctuary resemble dry African grass lands. Need patience, binoculars, good camera, water and some snacks.
Lovely habitat of grass land. Beautiful scenic view,... Good action of Black bucks. Grassland birds and lot of migratory birds from different parts of world. Enjoy the Nature beauty. Please do not carry any plastic inside this conservation area. For birding- it's very large area. Birding is only via car. Not advisable to walking and birding. Carry enough water and food. No food available inside this area.
Near the silicon valley, if you looking for a open land for wildlife it's Jayamangli. The famous black bucks are roaming here without any fear. They are running, fighting, many others activities you can see here. This place give you a full refreshment. Day out from Bangalore this place is best. Specially who has passionate for photography must include this place in your trip plan. Not only black buck, you can sigheting many birds also here. But please avoid summer season to visit here. Best time is November to February. Please carry your own food and water, because this place is conservation area for black buck, so no commercial activities are allowed here. One watch tower you can findout, climb up and see the beauty of lush green land.
This is a photographer's paradise. If you enjoy wildlife photography, this place will not disappoint you. If you don't have binoculars or long lens you will have difficulty in spotting them. An extremely beautiful and offbeat location. Many people do not know about this place, and it's best kept that way. The grassland ecosystem is a reserve centre for Black Bucks and since this stretch is connected to a nearby village, you can drive through it and watch black bucks hop bu at your leisure. There is forest ranger present around, so DO NOT LITTER. You'll be fined probably. The last stretch of road leading to the reserve is bumpy but thesight of these beautiful creatures will take away all complaints. Tip: Visit early morning to spot the deers. After 9 AM they will not come out in the grasslands. The ecosystem is the home to a large variety of birds as well. Carry your own food and water, as there are no shops inthe vicinity. Everything is available at the nearest town, which is 7-8 km away.
Yet another visit to this nature reserve of black bucks. Its also habitat for harrier species. Good population of male and female compared to 2019. Spotted a pallied harrier male early in the morning. I was there at sunrise and amazing hues in the sky. Best season is from oct to feb. Its a 2 km mud road and there are jeep trails which branches out from the mud road. There are no gates . As per feb 2020 road work is in progress and you might be riding in patchy roads on and off. Rest rooms are there in forest guest house. U will need permission to stay there. Nearest fuel station hotel and restaurant at 15 kms
Nice landscapes, you can spot a lot of deers and peacocks! I would suggest you visit the place during early mornings or evenings! There are no eateries or shops around so do carry your water bottles and snacks!
