The 27th Nov 1995 was the most auspicious day when the foundation stone of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kokrajhar. The school campus covers around 30 acres of forested with its buildings connected by steep and windy paths and offering spectacular views at every turn. These buildings include the beautiful old Quad, the modern state of art infrastructure and the newly-refurbished student hostels and staff houses. The academic buildings including several classrooms are linked by a computer network. The widespread use of email and an intranet system shrinks the distances and keeps staff, students and administration in quick and easy contact with one another. The Vidyalaya is surrounded by scenic beauty of various trees. In 1985, the Government of India has decided to set up co-educational institutions known as Model Schools, one in each district, essentially to provide good quality modern education to the talented children predominantly from rural areas. Accordingly, two schools called as Navodaya Vidyalayas, one at Amravati (Maharastra) and another at Jajjar (Hariyana) were started in 1985-86 and presently more than 595 Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are spread across the length and breadth of the country in all the States and Union Territories except Tamil Nadu. JNV, Banekuchi was established in 1994 in Mukalmua of Nalbari District in a temporary building and the vidyalaya was shifted to the present complex in Banekuchi in the year 2005. Navodaya gives entry on the basis of merit of written exam, hence it recruits on the basis of academic performance. But as a name of training, Navodaya gives multi talent to child. Navodaya gives a good platform for music, sports, study etc. Navodaya provides CBSE education to poor and needy children of villages. According to last 10 year record jnv performance is best in all CBSE school chains. Hence, jnv gives best and smart education to thier students.
