This is opposite of the nandi temple ... Requires climbing top of a hill. Its visible from the road side. Has a entry fee to get to the top..
The beautiful structure is situated in a well maintained garden and the entry fee is 10 Rupees. Around 50 steps are there to reach the top point. You can see the Jataayu very close from the adjacent hill lock. Don't carry water bottles or food items as there are monkeys roaming around. You can see the beautiful view of Lepakshi from the top.
There is one small temple which is dedicated to lord jatayu. Jai shri ram
good place for to see lepakshi from top, nice path way around the park.
Historical location. According to epic Ramayana, Ravana enroute to Lanka while kidnapping Sita, two birds came to rescue her. One was Jatayu and the other sibling. Ravana cut the wings of both the birds. The birds held on breath until Rama came in search of Sita. When Rama came in search and said Le Pakshi(Wake up Bird). The birds mentioned the direction where Sita was taken and died. The two birds were cremated here known as Jatayu Ghat.
Not much to see here as development is still going on. It's 5 mins drive from lepakshi temple. You can spend 5 to 10 mins here.
In Ramayana epic, Its place where god SRIRAMA asked to jatayu "woke up bird" (leeyi pkssi) that's Lepakshi (leepaakssi) the place named in Telugu language
