Jatayu Adventure Center - Adventure Sports Center in Chadayamangalam - Kollam, India

Good trekking & hiking spot and for witnessing the great Jatayu and footsteps of lord Ram. You can go to the spot by stairs (800 steps or 1km uphill) or by cable car. For walking the ticket is Rs295 (with GST) and for cable car it is Rs 499(with GST). Adventure area was closed so we could not explore that place. Water bottles and food are not allowed inside to avoid any plastic waste. There are nice viewpoints, temple and other attractions on the top apart from the main Jatayu sculpture. Overall a good place to visit.

If you live near Kollam, you'll truly appreciate it as a hidden gem. The Rope Valley and the top view was beautiful. Try to reach before 5, the closing time is 5:30 and exit time is 6:30 Make sure to carry cash because there's no UPI option available. The total fee per person is approximately 520, and don't forget about the parking fee.

What a magnificent statue!!!! Mind blowing. Just loved it. The entry cost is about Rs250 and the zipline cost is about Rs300 per person if not going walking. We had to travel about 4 hours from Thekkady but it was worth it. Overall and amazing experience for sure! Ticket rate is the main problem. There rate is are not worth for that place. There staffs are need more punctuality to customers. Because, we had a worst experience from the staffs related to the parking area! The positives are, there have available chain car service. The statue is are amazing.

Good place to visit with family. After a long struggle visited the place and came back. Historical place to see Jatayu sculpture where jatayu met lord rama. We can see lord rama feet and can have good dharsan. Pros: Clean maintenance Good ropeway Many security people are deployed in many places to make sure nothing goes wrong. On reaching hill can find small shop for refreshment, cost is reasonable. Big parking area Cons: Only cash is allowed to purchase ticket. No near by ATM During my visit, everyone has to wait for more than 3 hrs , they were saying rope car under maintenance, finally had to walk. (Beause of this I have to reduce 1 star) But rope car was functioning , they were operating from bottom to top at empty, and they allowed to purchase ticket from top to bottom (return Rs.160). Atleast they should consider senior citizen and allow them on priority basis. Senior citizens are not allowed to walk. Entrance ticket cost is too high Rs.300 charged including taxes, but they are not accepting UPI or credit /debit card.

Jatayu Earth Center, also known as Jatayu Nature Park or Jatayu Rock, is a park and tourism centre at Chadayamangalam in Kollam district of Kerala, India. It stands at an altitude of 350m (1200ft) above the mean sea level. Jatayu Nature Park holds the distinction of having the world's largest bird sculpture, which is of Jatayu. The sculpture measures (200 feet (61 m) long, 150 feet (46 m) wide, 70 feet (21 m) in height and occupies 15,000 square feet (1,400 m2) of floor area). It was sculpted by Rajiv Anchal.[3][4] This rock-theme nature park was the first Public-private partnership tourism initiative in the state of Kerala under the BOT model. The park is about 38 km (24 mi) away from the city of Kollam and 46 km (29 mi) away from the state capital, Thiruvananthapuram. After completion, it became accessible to visitors on 17 August 2018. The park located near the town of Chadayamangalam (Jatayumangalam), which was named for Jatayu. Jatayu was a demi-god in Ramayana (a Hindu epic) who had the form of a vulture. According to the epic, Ravana was attempting to abduct Sita to Lanka when Jatayu tried to rescue her. Jatayu fought valiantly with Ravana, but as Jatayu was very old Ravana soon defeated him, clipping his wings, and Jatayu fell onto the rocks in Chadayamangalam. Rama and Lakshmana while on the search for Sita, chanced upon the stricken and dying Jatayu, who informed them of the battle with Ravana and told them that Ravana had headed South.

Great Place amazing sculpture area is neat and clean There two ways you can reach at the top of hill one is by rope way another is by trekking If want to go by rope way i will suggest to go little early there will long queue for that Not much food options are available And it is not allowed to take any food items on hill better have lunch or breakfast before

Evening.. after 4:00pm is the best time to Visit.Both Cable car and walk bay are good.

Visitors ride the cable car to the top of the mountain. Not all areas and activities were fully operational when I visited in February 2023. It has the potential to be a better attraction once it is fully operational. Very clean and well run operation for Indian standards. Decent views from the top. I visited on a hot and very sunny day so it was uncomfortably hot. Bring an umbrella or hat for shade at the top.
